Which side are u on?
Two reasons for me:
Chechking intresting gameplay or tutorial-level videos about games that doesn't really support entry-level gaming (mobas, RTS games on multiplayer level)
Games I enjoy playing - It has the same point of watching a person playing age of mythology with good commentary instead of playing it like all sports out there. Want to take a chill/take a rest / eat and at the meanwhile it entertains me.

I don't watch streams for the games, I watch for the entertainment -- the broadcaster and the chat. I find it no different than watching television or some other avenue of broadcasted media. If you're watching someone just play games on twitch, then you're watching the wrong people in my opinion. That said, I rarely watch streams and do nothing else, I'm usually multitasking and have it on the tv or another monitor.

I'm pretty excited about youtube gaming after reading about the "dvr" feature. If you are late for a live broadcast, you can rewind up to 4 hours back. It's like the "past broadcasts" on twitch but much more seamless for recent ones.

I'll stick to twitch for streaming, and Youtube for edited down LPs. The live chatrooms on youtube are nothing short of a monstrosity

The streaming portion of it isn't the worst, since it also offers streamers the ability broadcast multiple camera angles (if their computer is powerful enough). So those that do facecam could put out two streams if they so wished: One with facecam & game, and one of strictly the game. However, having watched a few live streams on youtube, the chatroom negates any positives it has. Trying to stay interactive with the viewers is neigh impossible with all the trolls and ascii spam

I don't produce any content... have real work... XD
Joking a side, I do watch streams sometimes, usually podcasts or tournaments, and its usually in background while I do something else.
For the question about "war"... well as long as there is "content id", there is no war. Some developers and publishers don't mind, but there are still some who does, mainly Japanese. So, don't expect MGSV any time soon to available on Youtube. Also, most streamers tend to have some background music, which will also grantee "strike".
While we still don't know anything how will Youtube's service function in reality, we could expect better servers and lower delay, while video quality will depend on the streamer.

On the rare occasion I've felt the need to stream, I roll my own RTMP server. Gives me a lot more control over things. I've been let down by other services with intermittent downtime, regional routing issues, stream specification restrictions, etc. Plus my viewers don't have to deal with advertisements.
Edit: Gave YouTube a visit and noticed there's no "original" quality option. That sucks, since you're forced to watch a transcoded version which may or may not be in the original resolution (like games that top out at 1280x1024). At least they support 60fps, but only for 720p-1080p.

Think it's still far to early into the whole streaming thing to start jumping on any sides. Twitch is currently the biggest isn't it? with youtube, steam & other joining in, they must be bringing something else to the table twitch ain't

whatever works with my shitty internet XD
twitch used to work now it doesn't..youtube live shows like of the channel funhaus are smoother than that of twitch. so I'm expecting better service but still doubtful of the content as twitch is really user friendly & many streamers have been with twitch for more than years...so many grown comfortable with it.. plus the youtube privacy-copyright policy is gonna be real problem

Oh, I didn't know about this! I'll give this Youtube Gaming a shot, see how it works and if someone is actually going to stream there... It doesn't look like a bad idea, if they'd actually manage to overcome Twitch's popularity

Youtube Gaming is better in theory, like being able to watch what you missed etc! But twitch will most likely stay because everyone, both watcher and streamer, are too comfortable with what we know and love! I will try Youtube Gaming out though, but like MLG I will only use it for the one streamer that goes off to that site :P

Members of the GamingClerks network are able to stream in Germany.

No Steam and Hitbox option in the poll. ^^
I would go for YouTube: It works flawlessly in HD and you can easily rewind.
But I rarely watch streams anyway.

Youtube has some good features, but Twitch has such a well established community and most of all it is very user friendly. I can't see that Youtube is going to reach this kind of commitment and community in the near future. Also people who have started their streaming "career" on Twitch won't leave for Youtube just because it's new nice and shiny. I don't think Twitch is going to lose any of its viewers.

I don't have time to watch people steam video games live. Besides I tend to get much better quality out of an edited YouTube video then I have ever gotten from twitch. For example I don't need to watch the 15-30 minutes it takes for them to start doing something.
