Maybe get some kind of option to sort by points/price, or as many online retailers have the ability to adjust the giveaways seen by a range, like say for example I only want to see giveaways for between 5 Points and 30 Points.

An option to exclude games with certain tags would be nice as well. I know it may not be all that easy, but you're able to exclude games with certain tags from being advertised to you on Steam, or at least to prevent them from showing up in your Queue thing. I know this site has wishlist integration, is there any way of integrating the "I never want to see this, or any games like it" list?

I'm aware there is an option on this site to hide specific titles, but the stream of shovelware seems nearly endless. I've actually tried now a couple times, going through every page with active giveaways and hiding everything that does not appeal to me in the slightest, but the next day there's just as many. It takes up at least 75% of all the giveaways on this site. As the current system is tedious and time consuming, and there seems to be a hundred new shovelware titles on Steam everyday I feel it might be nice to somewhat future proof things rather than to have to go through and block thousands of titles everyday.

(Edit: Considering editing that part about wanting to kill myself back in. It's a good thing I wasn't seriously considering it originally or else the responses to this Discussion might've just gotten me there. Here's to hoping nobody's actually serious about it and gets responses like I did.)

Well, I didn't have a blacklist or a whitelist until today.
Sure, I haven't really done giveaways much at all in the past, but ya'know future proofing. Kinda like my suggestion.

complain about people not giving good games away when you've given away one game in 3 years.. that's the definition of entitlement.. Next time save your comments about the quality of games being given away if you're not giving games away yourself..

I think most of blacklists you get are about your attitude. Do not answer hostility with hostility. and seriously don not call games that people giveaway feces, that is plain rude. Getting into a fight in steamgifts forum will always create animosity from other users toward you. Try to write your comments in a calm state. Do not let people rile you up. There will be people that'll call you a "leech" and I really hate that term but If you can stay calm and be polite you will see there are many kind souls here that will come and defend you :)

Also, you complain when people give you advice. You don't want to filter games, don't want to organize your steam wishlist, don't want to use "obtuse" search parameters. You want everyhing solved by a button. Don't you think acting this way just makes you look selfish ;)

Hostility for hostility was mostly reserved specifically for those who were being mostly unhelpful and making assumptions about my life choice and claiming moral superiority passive aggressively. Just because a (fairly low chance to win a) game is being offered up does not suddenly make said game a 10/10, it doesn't even make it a 5/10. There is an incredibly large number of games that are well below even that. You have at least made an attempt at being helpful, I have not become riled up by your comment.

Incorrect, I want there to be more, better ways of filtering through games on the site.
I do have a wishlist. I simply stated that my wishlist is not an exhaustive list of all games that could possibly peak my interest.
I'm fine with using the search parameters, but believe them to be poorly integrated.
Buttons are almost always created for ease of use, something to initiate a process so that not every step must be manually done.
(When you start your computer do you have to sit down for a minute or two manually entering code and such into a command prompt, writing out the entire file path to boot up your Windows operating system? Most likely not, these days it is an automatic process.)
To a very base level, I suppose. Though I've not lived my life scavenging for food in the jungle.
Do you consider any (comparatively) easy way of life to be selfish or entitled? Certainly, there are starving children in Africa.
What do you want me to do about that exactly?
"Oh! Well now, that just proves how entitled this guy is, look at him!"
Alright, well what're you doing about all those starving human beings?

I was just trying tell you how to avoid more blacklists. Go get into fights, be rude to people if that is what you want.

You want better ways of filtering that doesn't exist. You just want your problems solved by others while you don't want to do anything about it yourself. That is definiton of selfish in my book. And why do your examples always have to be hilariously extreme?

I'm not really doing anything for starving children in Africa but I occasionally try to help Syrian refugee children -who are begging on streets here- whenever I can. Thanks for asking.

Do you feel I was being rude to you? I wasn't intending to be.
I was mostly responding to, and attempting to correct your confusion.

They do exist though, people have literally pointed them out repeatedly in this discussion, it's just that they're not well integrated into the site. Supposedly this can be remedied by using some ESGST thing, which I'm probably going to try soon enough.

Do you know how to code? Do you have the authority and access to change this site's user interface?
I don't. Therefore I must rely on others to do it. That's kind of just the way the world works.
My making a suggestion is about all I really can do about it. I'm sorry to hear you think that's selfish, for whatever reason.

The meaning and point behind extreme examples are often more easily understood.

Well that's good. I'm happy to hear, so long as they don't tear up any countries.
I'm well aware not all refuges are radical, at least that's my hope.

I was talking about being rude to giveaway makers that give cheap stuff, not myself though I mostly give away cheap stuff too :D

Oh so you are going to use ESGST! That is good to hear. But that also needs some work to be done before it is perfect. You need to add search parameters manually and you will find there are a lot of buttons in that extension. I was just trying to motivate yo to do something yourself by calling you selfish and rile you up :p

Well that's good. I'm happy to hear, so long as they don't tear up any countries.
I'm well aware not all refuges are radical, at least that's my hope.

I think it is sheer number of refugees that may tear countries apart economically rather than them being radical. But I don't think we can blame children for what they go through with.

I'm pretty upset about being blacklisted too. The next time he gives away a game (maybe 2020, or 2021) I won't be able to join!

Dang.

It's a future proofing thing.
I'd much rather give things away to reasonable human beings than to entitled bigots.

Put games you want on Steam on your wishlist, use the wishlist category on the left and you are done. Nothing as easy as filtering games out you don't really want.

I don't understand why more people don't just use the block game function. Between that and syncing with Steam, I rarely have more than 1 page to look through. Of course the 12,000+ blocked titles helps but that didn't happen overnight. I just did a little bit each visit and in less time than you'd think - done! And this is not the wishlist tab this is the regular giveaway tab. Hope your travels are eventually stress-free.
