But the worst thing is the cosplay. I almost puke when i see those "adult" "man" wearing those anime costumes (or worse: bronie costumes). How can they expect that we take them seriously? And how can they take themselfes seriously. I for sure can't and that has nothing to do with me.

Last week i sat in the bus and a guy walked in wearing some kind of anime school girl outfit i guess (Pink dress, pink wig, pink flowery hat and everything else). So naturally I looked at him a bit weird. He then said: what are you looking at? ... And then I puked a little bit inside.

I know not everyone is like that, but seriously; that are the guys that represent you ;').

lets see something psychological like Welcome to the NHK or Monster
or sport genre Hajime no Ippo which is about box

well if Hajime no Ippo can be watched by younger ppl and have fun watching it,
you require a bit of life experience and understanding in the 2 first ones

I went off anime when I was 12. Looking back I have no idea what I saw in it, it's all rubbish.

I think some people who watch anime do want to be little girls.

I must admit, I enjoy this little farce.

anime has been made for many different ages and there are alot of different genre like movies. There is alot more then those generic mainstream anime that i have seen listed for the most part in this thread. personally I find a couple of anime more realistic then some of the holly wood movies, but you do have to be able to get passed the concept of drawn animation to be for children. one thing anime has over regular movies is that there is no such thing as a bad actor. SFX that look fake or exaggerated is also no issue in an anime as it all drawn in the same style.

PS. How is this a humble opinion and please stay calm thing if its obviously a flame towards anime viewers. "I mean...[b]who the hell is watching them[/b]...with all that romance that makes me sick and those exaggerated superpowers...i'm just saying that people should start watching more realistic shows....[b]for their own good[/b]...

Depends on what you watch. In anime, much like "real television", you have types of shows. If you check Shoujos, you're bound to find romance and totally unrealistic characters. If you watch Shônens, here come the tons of superpowers and the friendship gives strength plot lines. If you watch anything else, then you'll have a good time.

I like anime because you can draw whatever you want and it looks realistic, or at least similar to the rest of the art. Special effects in regular TV shows are often of poor quality, and you know instantly it's a special effect(and in some case you'd be able to draw the ropes pulling stuff in and out). You don't have that in drawn media.

Most anime has flat characters, poor voice acting and cheap animation. I've tried getting into it multiple times but the way characters overreact to everything feels like something straight out of a PewDiePie video and all the "wacky" and random humor really gets under my skin. I also dislike its fandom and would prefer to not be associated with it. If you go around talking about what anime is the best with your anime avatar I'll instantly dislike you. If you act like a normal person and watch anime but never mention it outside of whatever anime forums there is then you are pretty cool.

Adventure Time contains romance too, you'll have a hard time finding a show without it.
Aren't most superpowers exaggerated? Isn't that the point.
And you're allowed to watch Adventure Time because it's realistic and how is watching realistic shows for one own's good.
If you wanted recommendations, you could have just asked and told them you weren't into ecchi stuff, but this works too since people are telling you the anime they enjoyed.
You don't see the beauty in them but want recommendations to watch? I guess you want to discover the beauty in them.
