What is not allowed? Nobody is by any means obligated to post a +rep after successful trade, and he may want to delete his comments for one reason or another, for example if his comment is outdated by now and useless.
If you traded in Steam trade window, then you don't have to worry about anything. If you traded outside of that window, then it's your own fault, but if that guy REALLY had +200 rep on SG, and you didn't click a fake link from an impersonator, you should be fine as well. However, judging from people that are new to trading and are being scammed every single minute, it's very likely that you traded with an impersonator. Did you add him, or did he add you?

I made a steam inventory gift trade with someone over 200+ or so rep here on steamgifts
He had a lot of inventory gifts and told me to choose any inexchange for my Binding of Isaac collection inventory gift. After we completed the trade, he deleted his comments on the trade thread I set up and deleted his feedback on my page. Basically, he covered his tracks and any trace of him commenting or having to do anything with me.
I am new. What should I do? Is this even allowed?
Yes, i did recieve the game I wanted and it is in my library now. He is a legit person
