Let's talk about hmhm a GAME

Good morning steamgifters! :)

Me as casual gifter not an addict, I LOVE to browse the discussions and often hop in with something smart to say xD
BUT lately I see really annoying I wont say stupid subjects, so as gamers lets talk about games, not food, drinks and rest of POPULAR stuff.

Game I want to talk about just came to me this morning and even managed to play it a bit.
It's name is Hounds : The Last Hope

It is online multiplayer RPG/Shooter, kind a little remind me of Shadowgate London, but ofc with way much better graphic and gameplay.
PVE,PVP, crafting, skills and abilities, market... I think that everything that could be possible implemented in game is there. You can even play it solo, because game addopt dificulty by number of players and their levels ^^

I would love to hear if you find any interest in this game and why.

and PS ofc, Im thinking of giving away one or two.. or more copies, right here in this discussion... sometimes later today/tomorow I dont know, when I feel like it :)

About the mentioned game: It really looks kinda nice but it's not the kind of game I'd play.
I'm more into Fantasy RPGs and Point'n'click adventures.

Hounds was/is free to play btw. Pretty much 99% of the comments for that game are raging about how it's 35 dollars on steam AND started launch day with 70 dollars worth of "dlc"

I can agree on the price issue, but same thing happens with all browser games comes to steam, like that Ants War for example :)
Still Hounds is very very good and quality game

Yeah, looks pretty good. Perhaps the price tag limits the trolls in game.
I would have tagged it at 19.99 though. I'll probably wait for a 50 or 75% sale on this one.

Aside from the fact that there's a F2P version on BUFF, it seems like the steam's B2P version will also be somewhat P2W because of those tokens people can buy with real money.

Blue Flame Token is a material to make a strong and special weapon, and with 2 Blue Flame Token, 1 Tier4 Legendary Weapon can be made.
To obtain Tier4 Legendary weapons in-game, user has to play a long, long time. Through the Blue FLame Token DLC, users can shorten the time and effort to make Tier4 Legendary weapons.

and

The cost (of Blue Flame weapons) used to upgrade to Tier5 is half compared to ordinary Tier4 weapons.

So while people who bought the game will still be able to get tier 5 weapons it will take them forever, while people who spend cash will be able to get them pretty much immediately. That's kinda pay2win in my opinion.

It looks like it's a steam store page screw-up (if unintentional) or exploit (if intentional).
Compare with other free-to-play titles, where the client is free but there's a "starter package" deal with a bunch of the in-game store stuff for a price.

Here it's the inverse, pay for the client, get free starter package DLC.

Interesting: The store page for the starter package DLC does have a "Play for free" link.

Weird..
It released at full price, they added the 20% off a little while later.
Idk, people were also claiming it wasn't even the developers but some copycat that got the code and uploaded to steam lol

Appears to do nothing without the game in your library.
It may be a free dlc for people who buy the game though.
Still even more disconcerting what is in the package.. which I can only assume are availabe in the ingame cash shop.

Inventory/storage space expansion.
Instant resurrection scroll.. pve only thank god.
Item to increase dropped money.
Item that increases exp earned.
ingame gold - 100,000.
potions that heal you, pve and pvp..

Wtf, I'm pretty sure I saw it as F2P this morning? confused
Current price on steam here is 26€
Not interested atm, just have to see how it progresses or if it dies after a year.

I'd play it, it seems to have good gameplay, great environments
and the character design looks really good. I actually have been
following this game on foreign sites for awhile now waiting for
it to come west.
