Half Life 3 finally announced today?

It is not going to happen.
It is going to be about getting Steam into the living rooms as a console/PC and media device.

Although I'm surprised that Valve haven't trolled their fans with this upcoming event. Perhaps they're saving it until the event starts. I'm thinking a big "3" in an orange circle comes on the screen and they proceed to announce how they've spent 3 years on their VR headset.

If they announce a 3rd game in a series, my money's on it being Left 4 Dead 3 or Portal 3 (but mainly L4D3.)

It's another Duke Nukem Forever. Teased/announced for years and when finally released, it'll be complete crap.

But then again, I also didn't like the other Half Life games. And yes I own the complete collection of Half Life 2. Highly over-rated.

They'll announce HL3 and will tell us it'll only need another 33 years to finish it.

But what about Source 2? That seems more likely. Also considering they promised a huge major update for Dota 2 early this year.

This 3 thing comes up so often that maybe we should call them Valv3 from now on.

I think the presentation will be mostly about Steam machines, the Steam controller, the VR headset, SteamOS and hopefully, they announce/show Source 2 engine with at least a tech demo. That would be a lot more than what Valve did show in the last couple of years.

No sane person would announce games at GDC.
I don't think you people realize that GDC is not E3, nor is it supposed to be. It's geared toward game development. It's a convention where video game developers gather and talk about how they approach game development and talk about and announce new game development tools.

Valve's just waiting for their new Half life to be as innovative and revolutionary as possible /just as the first and second one/
