Hey, just an FYI, the Outcast Second Contact game is a "remake" of the first, its basically the first game with better graphics, same clunky controls one would expect from a game in that era, so it feels bad to play the game. Just an FYI.

Hi, can I get the community's opinion on this?
https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/7118/XCOM_2_Collection/

Looks good if you don't have xcom 2 (78% off). I do though and it drops the discount to 41%, so I think it's not worth it if you've already gotten the base game

Edit:
My misunderstanding, overall discount is at 71%. They give an additional 41% discount on the cost of remaining items if you bought it as the bundle.

Crux is, the only reason the discount is so high is they're discounting the original retail price. So the base game is going at $80 - reduced to $20, while WOTC expansion is going at $56 - reduced to $18.50

They made it so it's not really a bundle so people with the base game don't get a discount, it's bullshit...

No. Charging people who own part of a digital package the same as people with nothing and not giving the first group the extra content they are paying for with an option to redistribute it (as happens with physical goods, is wrong) .
You evidently don't understand what I'm addressing if you think what you said is a direct reply to what I wrote. Bundles normally work with a "complete your collection format" they somehow got Steam to label it a bundle but work as a package (single price, no partial ownership discount).

It could be 90% off and we are still being charged for things we are not getting. There is nothing about greed on our side; they don't need you being a corporate shill.

They finally fixed it.
The past 3 sales or so, it said bundle but the price wasn't getting discounted for owning part of it, so I was holding off on buying it. I had been in contact with their support reps like 5 months ago, and they said it was intentional and they wouldn't fix it.

I was saying the same thing on a steam forum yesterday about some game. bundle.

I swear it's a relatively new thing ,unless my memory is off.

It used to be you'd get a straight discount if owned part of a collection or bundle .

Now they have this switch they can turn on that blocks you getting the discount.

https://gg.deals/us/deals/?drm=1&minDiscount=70&minSteamReviews=80&onlyHistoricalLow=1&store=4&type=1

That is a pretty good search that will show most good deals. It will only show deals where the game is rated at least 80% positive on Steam, has a discount of at least 70%, and is a historical low.

There is a lot you can do to modify the search. You can add other stores like Humble, Indie Gala, Fanatical, or whatever you want. If you sign in through Steam, you can have it only show you games from your wishlist or games that you don't own.

purchased so far only Firewatch for 4,99eur and gifted 3 unbundled game what ended as giveaways.

Not much time to get deep on my WL yet, with my backlog I really should check out only DLCs for my already owned games.

Planned to buy Fallout 4 GOTY, but actually, I planning to buy it since ages but because of backlog and that it just doesn't get price change as time goes on neither bigger sale I just keep delaying, I have a lot of other games to play.

Historical low on this what I might not be able to resist:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/841770/Siralim_3/

-50%, 6,24eur but as I own 1+2 it is only 4,99 with complete the bundle.

I am just afraid to buy it, ~700 hours spent on 1+2 and this game easily another timesink for several hundreds hour of fun:-)

The price on Fallout 4 is the worst deal I've seen this sale. If you own the base game, the season pass is 33,49 euro, so if you want all the dlc the cheapest option is buying the Goty edition at 30 euro. The season pass is more expensive than the Goty edition, why even have it on sale at that point? I guess just to trick people into thinking the Goty edition is a better deal. Fucking ridiculous, seriously fuck bethesda.

happen way too many time, i remember xcom complete was also always cheaper than only the dlc, during sales. There are other examples too. This is why most of the time I avoid buying new games for years.

That's how bethesda has always been with their sales. Not only that but the goty is usually double or triple the price of the base game. That's why I buy their base games and get the dlc... elsewhere.

Hollow Knight
Just Cause 3 XXL
Shadow of The Tomb Raider GOTY
Sniper Elite 4 GOTY
Wolfenstein 2

And im gonna buy Dead Cells+Moonlighter when my refrunds will be back at my wallet
Bought Regions of Ruins, Vagante, Darkwood, Rayman Legends, but i refunded them, will buy later.

Actually its good to have Enchanted Steam. U can see if game was ever at better discount than on sale.

But most of games are same discount as on normal weekend/weekly promos.

You don't have to pay with real wallet, just trade for it instead. For 3 Tf2 keys you should find it really easy and it's way cheaper than on steam. Or just trade for the entire humble monthly with Tf2 keys (or Csgo keys).

Buyers Beware : While MNC was a great game back in the day, it's a multiplayer centric game and the playerbase has long since died out. You can still occasionally get a legit match but you will likely need to join the steam group to see whenever they organise a get-together to host a (single) server. Last I checked was years ago, and even then it would be once every few weeks.

If you can get a group of 8 friends together you'd be fine though.

Aarklash: Legacy - 90% off (historical low)
https://store.steampowered.com/app/222640/Aarklash_Legacy/

Welcome to Aarklash, a land of chaos where incessant battles between the forces of Light, Destiny and Darkness have lasted since the beginning of time. Take command of a mercenary squad in search of truth and guide it through countless battles

  • A very tactical RPG with puzzles. You'll really need to make use of its active pause + strategize to survive :)

Adding: FTL - 75% off
https://store.steampowered.com/app/212680/FTL_Faster_Than_Light/

This "spaceship simulation roguelike-like" allows you to take your ship and crew on an adventure through a randomly generated galaxy filled with glory and bitter defeat.

  • Due to regional pricing, its current price is a lot lower for me than its current historical lowest which is $1.99 :P Maybe it's the same for you.

Haven't seen them mentioned so far... but for anyone looking for cheap stealth games, the old Thief titles are must-play. All three are currently, like, $1 USD. You can't really go wrong when it's so inexpensive.

Thief Gold (1997)
Thief II: The Metal Age (2000)
Thief: Deadly Shadows (2004)

Look around (Nexus, moddb.com), there are plenty of mods to make them easier on the eyes with HD texture packs, probably some unofficial patch also... I don't really remember the mods I had installed when I played those games.

My personal favorite is Deadly Shadows, which hardcore fans seem to despise because it's apparently way too easy or something like that. Meh.

Yeah. You like what you like, and games are kinda supposed to be about doing a joyful thing with your spare time. Sure, for some people that is a weirdly stressful exercise in speedrunning turbo-extreme difficulty modes, buuuut the rest of us will just be over there doing our own thing ->

I know. My post was more of a reminder. Not everyone knows about the Thief series. Those who don't and are looking for cheap stealth games, they're worth picking up. Especially during a sale, as the price gets so ridiculously low, it shouldn't feel as much as a waste of money if they end up not liking them as, say, if they had bought a $30 title.

Haha oh god, I read this post and thought "There's no way they're talking about THAT Saboteur".
They're really reaching deep for the remakes now aren't they?

I mean, maybe it's just me and my hyperactive childhood but I actually found Saboteur boring. I mean, it was beautiful, but actually finding the codes for the mission bored me and I was more interested in leaping around like a lunatic and trying to see the various sights of the level design.

Now, if only they'd remake the Trapdoor game where you had to actually cook stuff for 'the thing upstairs'.

Blehhh. Looked up some games I'm vaguely interested in only to see that while they may have a good percentage off (IE 66% or 75%), that's only from the release price.

We're talking games that are 3+ years old, like XCOM 2. Feb 2016, still NZ$99.95, discounted to NZ$24.95.

It really should be something like NZ$40 down to NZ$10 by now.

I have some store credit to use but I'm not finding anything I can justify using it on. :/

Overall very disappointing.
