Can you forgive me?
Wow, that's awesome! Congratulations!!! so you have now a stable work??
Welcome back! Nowadays here the first to come to mind from the word killer is bundlestars :-)
Seems people accepted pretty well your negative options on the poll...
PS: We won't see you much after She is born.

Oh, its not really a negative option.
Also, like a real politician, the votes don't really count.
Its just something we give to the people, so they think they decided something XD
And yes, i got a stable work and the apartment is ready to go :D

Hey there, just found your thread. As I am new here I don't know anyone. I hope you are doing better after these nine months.
Solved the first 3 without any problem, I'm stuck on the 4th one, I guess I will skip it for now.
Also you may want to add that the giveaways are Level 1 restricted. I guess not everyone has fun enough solving the puzzles as I do. :-)

Pretty sure I have both words for that goose. But it is wrong. Any formating specification? Do I write both words with or w/o a space? With a + or w/o?
Comment has been collapsed.
Duh is right. For some reason I got hung up on that despite having every other question solved but 6. It was so obvious once it clicked. That's how it works.

Playing around with that creepy picture. I already "saw" a headcrab on the imaginary head of that imaginary person. Or the helmet of the dragonborn. :-D

the hint for 3 means you should set the colors and the characters in a relation.
if you got this, you have the solution very fast.
The hint for five only helps if you are on the right trace and it still says wrong.
hint: google not just for the picture, also for the question. can't say more now.

Congratulations and welcome back! I wasn't here when you left. Could only solve 1, 2 and 7.
Comment has been collapsed.
I see. Congratulations.
I still have to wait 20 minutes for the hint.
Comment has been collapsed.
The hint only tells you what you should already know.

I feel you. I had to search a lot before I found a tool that did the job.
Comment has been collapsed.
I found a tool but the result it returns (and it does find a match) does not seem to work.
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh no. I was using the improper tool and that was definitely a BLAST. But using the proper tool was definitely not a BLAST. In fact, the tools were very, very different.

Does someone have a hint for the creepy picture? I can give a hint on 1, 2, 3, 7 in return.

Mine drops in 18 minutes. Have you guessed at all? If you don't, the timer doesn't start counting down.

For #4, maybe it will help you to assume the role of the possessor. It helped me.
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't understand what he means by "content of the possessor".

I don't have any brain cells left for this. I'll come back tomorrow for 3, 4 and 5.

Not entirely dissimilar from how you solved 6 I assume. I just had an easier time finding the info for #5 than I did for #6.

I've been reading about geese for hours. I need to get some sleep. Good night and good luck on 6.
Comment has been collapsed.
Good night. When you get back to it, I would spend less time reading about geese and more time analyzing other aspects of the question. Once I understood what it was asking for (and the format - no space between the components), I had a much easier time getting to the answer than I am having with #6 despite being confident I know what it is asking for.

that made me lol so much XD
but SG is the right place for stuff like this.
at one time, I for example searched the web for 8 hours for informations about the Doctor Who series, to find the name of character in it
that wasn't listed in the normal wikis.

I was very happy to see you solve my simple little puzzle :-) As to parenthood... let me just say that it is probably one of the absolute best things life ever presents us with...there is nothing like it. It's exhausting but at the same time the most purely beautiful thing ever. I just spent a few days with my grown son last week and that feeling of love for another human being...ah, yes :-) Congratulations. I truly hope your new being is healthy, happy and wise!

You might also like road rallies if there are any events near you... I'm not talking about car racing :-p
Comment has been collapsed.
Beautiful car!! :-) But I do love my red girl. One road rally we went on, I was navigating and suddenly realized we had to turn left as we'd almost passed the turn... My hubby threw her around that corner like it was nothing. Later, another rally car saw us at a rest stop and were literally amazed that we'd made that turn! :-D

got through 1, 2, 3 alright so I thought I'd be done before I went crazy, then 4, 5, 6 came along. At least 7 boosted my confidence a bit before I tear myself to shreds going back to the other three.
despite all that complaining, I'm absolutely enjoying this :p I'm good helping out for 1, 2, 3, 7 if anyone needs it <3

Well guys, its been a while (7 months, to be correct) since i was here for the last time.
Some of you may remember my SG-Killer series.
And some will also know, that i never finished it.
And this is why:
Only days after the 3rd part had ended, i lost my job.
so far so good, you think. Whats the problem?
Well I and my girlfriend wanted to become parents at that time, and like in a bad
movie, on the day i come home home from work and want to tell the news, she waits for me
and says shes pregnant.
Well, on the one side i was (and still am) the luckiest man on this planet.
On the other side, i got to work my ass off, at trial works and after that at home, preparing
our apartment for the new family member.
And sadly, there wasn't any more freetime i could have spend on this awesome forum, let be a
new part of the SG-Killer.
Now there is only one week left.
If every thing goes allright, my little daughter will be born into the world next week.
i took myself some days off, first time in the last half year, to be here when it starts.
And thats where i thought of you!
While i'm waiting, i prepared a nice little puzzle for you.
For each of the parts, there is a little reward, but the jackpot is only for thee, who solve all of them.
Here are the links to the questions:
First
Second
Third
Fourth
Fifth
Sixth
Seventh
if you solved all of them, you can enter your answer
here
The las´t thing I want to say now, is that I totally allow you to help each other with the riddles, if you want.
Only thing i don't wanna see here is the exact solution. Hints are welcome, and if I see there are only a few solvers,
i will give some myself.
Thats it, have fun and enjoy the Puzzle.
EDIT: A kind member told me to tell you the GAs are all Level 1+, so if you don't have fun solving the Puzzle
and are not at least level 1, you better leave right now!
seems to be the easiest one, so no additional tips here :P
normally no software needed
google the hint if you need to
relate the colors and the letters to each other
paint by numbers
you literally can't see the solution in the picture
the picture is literally possessed
you may need a none image editing programm, some might even allready have it on their PC
we search for two codes
no space between the two codes
don't let google fool you! we don't search for a special type of the bird. just the simple name matters.
google also for the question, not only for the bird (might be language specific)
click, the solution is found somewhere there
the answer may be in a PDF is
there is only one "tool", as far as i know, that does the job.
one user came up with a, if you know it, pretty simple solution that doesn't need that tool (he found out how this code is produced)
isn't to be readed in threes
don't count the 3 beffore the comma. count only after it.
general tip:
bruteforcing one or two characters of the final code is possible, only numbers and letters used there
She finally is here.
Well, in fact she is allready 3 days old XD.
But as expected i don't have much time right now.
Going to work, afterwards i drive to the hospital, walking with our dog, blabla.
Its awesome and i spend every tiny bit of my sparetime with her ^^.
But I wanted to give this thread a last bump (only 10 hours left) and tell thos e who wished us luck:
everything is fine, my little Hannah is alive and kicking!!!
Thank you again for all your nice words : )
Oh, and we don't want to exhibit our daughter to the internet that young, so i can't present you a photo, i hope you understand.
For those interested, here are the solutions and the expected way to find the answers:
Prolly the easiest one, the answer is
Birthday
use this for example.
If you didn't get it before, google for the hint should have brought you to Morse, and thats what it is: a morse-code
listening carefully would have given you the answer:
Nightmare
I have to admit, this one was a bad choice, because colorblinds really can't solve this.
I wont do any more color-related puzzles in the future!
However, the solution was to put the letters of the alphabet into the table, first row from a-m, second row from n-z
then search for the word coded in colors, you get:
Eyecandy
It gets a bit trickier now.
you had to download the picture and open it with any programm you can open .rar files with, or with notepad.
if you choose the first way, you get an archive that contains a .txt document, the only text in it says the solution.
if you chosse the second way, scroll to the bottom of the sheet, there you can see the solution too, because i didn't protect the *.rar with a password.
the solution is:
dead people
this honestly went horrible wrong. i wasn't aware that there are so many types of this dan goose out there :P
the, how i have to admit really optimistic, thought solution, was to search the web for 4 and 6 letter codes for birds.
you then find this document (hopefully), look for the SNOW GOOSE (just simple snowgoose) and take the two codes together without spaces. so, the solution is:
SNGOCHECAE
I know it was frustrating and i wil try to not make such puzzles anymore.
Two possible soution here.
First, if you where lucky searching the web, you could have found this, nothing more to say.
Second, if one says the lower case characters are 0's and the upper case characters are 1's, you could just translate the code using something like this, there are many tools for this out there.
Solution:
I am a pirate
This was one of the easier to find solutions.
you just search for a online calc like this, enter 12386 and look for the last Digit thats written there.
solution:
3
Final
if you were able to solve one of the puzzles, then i told you a digit of a password. If you got all of them and entered em you got to a little train and the big prize of the event. SHADOW OF MORDOR
solution was:
A8PS97Q
also, some just bruteforced one or two letters.
and if have read this and think: "hm, and now?"
enter this one, it only lasts one day!
