Can you forgive me?
6 is absolutely brutal. I think I know exactly what I am supposed to do but I have been completely unsuccessful in using tools to find the answer given the information that is given.
But a bump for a brute-forcing solve of the only master riddle character I didn't have. Thank you for sharing this evil set of puzzles and congratulations on the family addition :).

lol yup, here's what I have so far.
if it is to be decoded by reading in threes, there's not enough characters divisible by 3. if we're only supposed to select the either capitalized or not, we'd have to choose not cause that's divisible by 3. but even then, using the tool I have, that's 22 characters of gibberish.
I might be totally off in the way to solve it though, so, gg

I do not believe that the decoding needs to be done in threes. If I am correct as to what it represents (which I am even more confident in after the hint was revealed), the tools for processing it are designed to take long strings.

ah, just refreshed to get the hint. I'll come back after lunch and maybe something will click <3
Edit: Gene sequences are in strings of 10 so, idk, maybe it's a riddle and not even relevant to decode the actual clue.
...is what my frustrated brain thinks but "Salty Seafood" hints otherwise, so here goes more guessing :p
I've even gone as far as reading about the Haloarcula marismortui @_@

thank you very much.
yeah, bruteforcing the last one or two digits is an problem i allready thought about.
At first i thought, i will just put an λ or something in the hard questions.
and then i thought: no, that isn't fun. they still have to solve at least 5 questions to get the answer
in an acceptable amount of time.
so i left it like it was.
will post the answers after the event has ended. (when i still got time, my daughter should be born then XD)

Funny enough, 6 was the easiest one for me. I knew exactly what those letters were once I saw them.
There is definitely a tool online that will help. A geneticist might be able to help as well!
Now, how the hell do you solve the goose one? I'm stumped!!
Comment has been collapsed.
For me, trying to work with a geneticist was a big mistake. He kept talking about irrelevant animals. I think I would have been better suited talking to a computer scientist that happened to have a love of genetics.

I feel you.. Been using all of the tools given to me as a microbiologist and not a one of them has any effect xD

oligovore! Glad to see you back alive and well. I was wondering where you had been. Great news you got there, being a proud father soon and all. My best wishes to you and your soon to be little family ♥♥♥
Looking forward to chasing that killer again :)

See? All I needed was sleep. Got 3 instantly. Only 4 and 5 missing.

Wow, so many people have solved 4 already. What did I miss?

Congrats and good luck with your family addition! :)
Bump for solved!

Only 4 left. I guess I'll bruteforce the last one 'cause I have no idea about it.

edit: Ok, got it, seems I was being too specific, its not the bird in the picture :P
No help, lol, all I do now is hate birds... :P
Found 30 possible combinations, none worked.
It doesn't help that you picked that bird either :/
Maybe the cgatgtacc stuff will work, lets see if I can dig up a hint in all these replies, its quite the mess :P

Well welcome back, and congrats on the soon to be fatherhood! ^_^
What did you decide on naming her, if you don't mind my asking

Got everything but Q6 now. Found plenty of other tools, but can't seem to locate the one required O.o

Maybe you were making the mistake I did. I kept asking a geneticist who wouldn't shut up about animals. I should have been talking to a computer scientist who loved genetics.

Have you tried this? =) http://www.steamgifts.com/go/comment/9KqgUoj

The pi puzzle's "correct" answer is wrong.
The bird puzzle is impossible to fairly solve. That particular bird comes in several flavors and each of them have different codes in different regions, making it a tedious guessing game of every possible combination.
In addition, the puzzle itself relies solely on trivia and ornithological prior knowledge (or else cheating.)
I don't know whether you accept both spaces and non-spaces between the first and second code, requiring even more random guessing.
EDIT: After receiving the correct answer for this puzzle, the "correct" answer to this one is also incorrect. You've titled the image "snow goose" and accepted the codes for a "snow goose", but the bird pictured is specifically a Greater Snow Goose, which not only has different codes from a Snow Goose but also three different four-letter codes on its own depending on color variation.

well, at first i wanted to answer you, but then i saw you didn't comment to a single GA,
so no spoilers i can't answer you here.
All i see is a large text complaining about Puzzles so many other solved before.
you should be able to read to solve the riddles. thats all i can say here.
all in all i have to say: i come back here to this nice community, and what i get, not 24 hours
after i'm back, is a user, registered 3 months ago, not saying or commenting anything and complaining
about a puzzle he can't solve, even if he could just close the thread and move on, or ask before complaining,
like others do.
You Sir, just earned a spot on my blacklist. You are the 4th there. well done.

He would needs a steam account worth $100, not counting bundle games, so even if it is possible of course, it is not so easy creating another sg account. By now, he will be blacklisted by each one of the people who enjoy puzzles. This should be his last puzzle in sg.

Welcome back, oligovore :) I was wondering where were you. It's nice to see you back here. I'm happy to hear that everything is good with you and you're going to become a father :D Good luck!
P.S. I'm sorry that you got inadequate and toxic person in your thread. It doesn't happen often here.

Your name i remember too.
I know that happens very seldom here.
I feel more feel sorry for such people.
They will never expirience fun, hapiness and satisfaction in their
poor lives, because they don't understand how much better life gets
when you start to be nice to others.
Well, there will allways be the one guy i guess :D
Thanks for you participation so!

Welcome back! Congrats on your first daughter :) you'll be no doubt crazy about her, like you never were before.
I haven't tried this yet and I'm about to leave for a few hours so there's chance when I'm back I'd be to darn tired to try 'em but know that I'm lv 2 and a half, I do enjoy (and get obssessed) with puzzles and riddles, and that one day you all may or may not fall for one of mine mwaahahahaa! Ok akward! :D so, yeah, congrats, sorry I don't have a welcoming party gift, and nice to know you, soon-to-be-parent. Oh, and ofc congrats on the wifey too, parenting is made for the two of you :)

Well guys, its been a while (7 months, to be correct) since i was here for the last time.
Some of you may remember my SG-Killer series.
And some will also know, that i never finished it.
And this is why:
Only days after the 3rd part had ended, i lost my job.
so far so good, you think. Whats the problem?
Well I and my girlfriend wanted to become parents at that time, and like in a bad
movie, on the day i come home home from work and want to tell the news, she waits for me
and says shes pregnant.
Well, on the one side i was (and still am) the luckiest man on this planet.
On the other side, i got to work my ass off, at trial works and after that at home, preparing
our apartment for the new family member.
And sadly, there wasn't any more freetime i could have spend on this awesome forum, let be a
new part of the SG-Killer.
Now there is only one week left.
If every thing goes allright, my little daughter will be born into the world next week.
i took myself some days off, first time in the last half year, to be here when it starts.
And thats where i thought of you!
While i'm waiting, i prepared a nice little puzzle for you.
For each of the parts, there is a little reward, but the jackpot is only for thee, who solve all of them.
Here are the links to the questions:
First
Second
Third
Fourth
Fifth
Sixth
Seventh
if you solved all of them, you can enter your answer
here
The las´t thing I want to say now, is that I totally allow you to help each other with the riddles, if you want.
Only thing i don't wanna see here is the exact solution. Hints are welcome, and if I see there are only a few solvers,
i will give some myself.
Thats it, have fun and enjoy the Puzzle.
EDIT: A kind member told me to tell you the GAs are all Level 1+, so if you don't have fun solving the Puzzle
and are not at least level 1, you better leave right now!
seems to be the easiest one, so no additional tips here :P
normally no software needed
google the hint if you need to
relate the colors and the letters to each other
paint by numbers
you literally can't see the solution in the picture
the picture is literally possessed
you may need a none image editing programm, some might even allready have it on their PC
we search for two codes
no space between the two codes
don't let google fool you! we don't search for a special type of the bird. just the simple name matters.
google also for the question, not only for the bird (might be language specific)
click, the solution is found somewhere there
the answer may be in a PDF is
there is only one "tool", as far as i know, that does the job.
one user came up with a, if you know it, pretty simple solution that doesn't need that tool (he found out how this code is produced)
isn't to be readed in threes
don't count the 3 beffore the comma. count only after it.
general tip:
bruteforcing one or two characters of the final code is possible, only numbers and letters used there
She finally is here.
Well, in fact she is allready 3 days old XD.
But as expected i don't have much time right now.
Going to work, afterwards i drive to the hospital, walking with our dog, blabla.
Its awesome and i spend every tiny bit of my sparetime with her ^^.
But I wanted to give this thread a last bump (only 10 hours left) and tell thos e who wished us luck:
everything is fine, my little Hannah is alive and kicking!!!
Thank you again for all your nice words : )
Oh, and we don't want to exhibit our daughter to the internet that young, so i can't present you a photo, i hope you understand.
For those interested, here are the solutions and the expected way to find the answers:
Prolly the easiest one, the answer is
Birthday
use this for example.
If you didn't get it before, google for the hint should have brought you to Morse, and thats what it is: a morse-code
listening carefully would have given you the answer:
Nightmare
I have to admit, this one was a bad choice, because colorblinds really can't solve this.
I wont do any more color-related puzzles in the future!
However, the solution was to put the letters of the alphabet into the table, first row from a-m, second row from n-z
then search for the word coded in colors, you get:
Eyecandy
It gets a bit trickier now.
you had to download the picture and open it with any programm you can open .rar files with, or with notepad.
if you choose the first way, you get an archive that contains a .txt document, the only text in it says the solution.
if you chosse the second way, scroll to the bottom of the sheet, there you can see the solution too, because i didn't protect the *.rar with a password.
the solution is:
dead people
this honestly went horrible wrong. i wasn't aware that there are so many types of this dan goose out there :P
the, how i have to admit really optimistic, thought solution, was to search the web for 4 and 6 letter codes for birds.
you then find this document (hopefully), look for the SNOW GOOSE (just simple snowgoose) and take the two codes together without spaces. so, the solution is:
SNGOCHECAE
I know it was frustrating and i wil try to not make such puzzles anymore.
Two possible soution here.
First, if you where lucky searching the web, you could have found this, nothing more to say.
Second, if one says the lower case characters are 0's and the upper case characters are 1's, you could just translate the code using something like this, there are many tools for this out there.
Solution:
I am a pirate
This was one of the easier to find solutions.
you just search for a online calc like this, enter 12386 and look for the last Digit thats written there.
solution:
3
Final
if you were able to solve one of the puzzles, then i told you a digit of a password. If you got all of them and entered em you got to a little train and the big prize of the event. SHADOW OF MORDOR
solution was:
A8PS97Q
also, some just bruteforced one or two letters.
and if have read this and think: "hm, and now?"
enter this one, it only lasts one day!
