But that makes a always 2D side scroller side view turn based game that much more fun when its in a relatively small open world per map, never before having the freedom to go in which ever direction you want to go but now you could, it was amazing and its the only game of its kind in the series.

What are you talking about? It was incredibly competetive, using bazookas and grenades required far more skill than in any 2D Worms game released, ever, how about you play the game instead of saying something so incredibly false? It has a higher skill ceiling than any other game and nobody gives a shit if its competitive or not, Worms is a casual game, made for casuals, you want competitive, go play a moba or a shooter, this game though, just cause the newest one got that competitive mode, doesnt mean anything, people just laugh at that shit. And it definetly HAS depth buddy, you can create your own friggin weapons, destruction is much better there, it has quite alot of exclusive weapons and tools not present in any other game like the bow and arrow for example, it has the best worms customization by far, making your own maps in Mayhem is out of this world when pros or genuineses get to work. The story campaign is by far the best one in the series and the soundtrack is amazing sounding aswell. At the end of the day, nobody asked and nobody wanted competetivness, its tacked on this game is by casuals, for casuals.

I tried to play Worms Armageddon and World party with a friend but the multiplayer didn't work.
On worms revolution it worked, but we got some bugs.
Reading reviews of some other worms, I saw people complaining about bugs too.
Is there any "stable" worms with a working multiplayer?

I didn't play all of them, but so far i'm gonna stick with Armageddon.
