Whats your favourite game of this generation?

The only great games I can think of are from before 2006.

Edit: Gave it some thought and came up with Company of Heroes. Can't think of anything else.

Mine would be the Dead Space, Bioshock, and Darksiders franchises. I just loved the hell out of the games.

Hm. for indie titles I would have to say Bastion. It is the most sastisfying game I have ever played. Evar.
For AAA I guess Assassin's creed? I love the story and lore.
Multiplayer: Halo 3. I played that with my best friend for soooooo many hours.
Singleplayer only: Mass Effect 1 or 2 or Mirror's Edge.( I feel like I trucked through it to fast though)

Hotline Miami is hands down the best INDIE game of this generation.

No exceptions. The atmosphere really pulls you in with an astounding soundtrack and a bright colour palette. The violence feels fluid and fun, and grimdark enough to keep the edgiest of kids entertained. The sprite work is top notch and it's never unclear what a character is doing. On top of that, the level design is amazing and well planned.

This is what style and execution is! Games industry, take note!

Asking for a favourite game of the year is hard enough. Going 6 years back is absurd.

Favourite game... so that's one game...
Hmm.. Deus Ex Human Revolution, I guess.

Yes, there was Skyrim, Portal 2, Dark Souls, XCOM, Left 4 Dead 2, 2 great Stalker games... but when I compare each one of them to DXHR, I always end up realizing, that DXHR is just better. Too bad there wasn't any worthy successor to System Shock and System Shock 2 this generation...
