So I won a giveaway this morning, got an email about it and when I looked at my wins some time later there are suddenly two won giveaways, one of them supposedly a week old. Thing is, I never got an email about a win last week plus it was definitely not in my account when I looked yesterday.

Can this be something like a reroll or a website error?

Shouldn't you see a reroll confirmation in the comments if it was a reroll?

No, you don't get any message about a reroll win, besides the red +1.
And then you need to search around were that +1 come from, because it will not listed as newest. It will sort in on the end time of the rerolled GA. So maybe below different other wins that you already claimed.

I meant that he knows what he won, because he said it's a week old. So if he goes to that giveaway's page should't he see in the comments that the winner agreed with a reroll? Otherwise it couldn't have been a reroll, could it?

Winners don't always request a reroll. Rule breakers trigger a reroll, for example.

I did get the red notification on the site though so if you do not have an unclaimed win it is easily noticeable.

It's a reroll win.

Sometimes there are winners who don't check the email with the giveaway attached for any length of time.
I'll try to write a comment on SG.

Send a comment in some way.

Sometimes there are winners with strange reactions.
Perhaps you don't understand the language, or you're a human who has been turned into a Borg.
In such cases, you can request a reroll from support after a week has passed.

You will then receive a gift box with time elapsed.⏰🎁⏳

I don't do anymore more as to write a comment on one of their sg GA's. If they don't want the win, not my problem.
I have done in the past all ways that someone please please please take their win and i had only work and stress from it + often that guys don't know a thanks on top.

Now i do better things with that free time :o)

That's right. Because you can write one in the GA that the winner made.
However, there are some users who have never created a gift before.

Due to some mischief, such users were not allowed to comment and I had a very hard time.(ノΘ`)
You have the freedom to choose a method that is not unreasonable.

As others have said, it was probably a reroll. The reason why it takes so long is that rerolls work a little differently compared to regular won giveaways. Every giveaway on SG is stored in a specific server and if a reroll is triggered through a support ticket it disconnects the server from the mainframe that the giveaway is located in.
What happens next is that the support member that granted a reroll has to travel to a server location physically (either by a plane, a car or by walking depending on the distance) enter the building and restart it by flipping it from one side to another (that is called a server reroll). Then a new winner is selected

It's not that much of a problem really, travelling is nice, I just hate it when I have to swim

Does cg cover travelling expenses? Also are mods required to pass physical tests to make sure they are able to swim, walk long distances to a server, etc. I might be interested :)

And ths scary thing is -- this robot writes posts that make more sense than 31.3% of what is posted on the interwebz.

Anyway, who are these people that make these GIFs? Don't they have anything better to do with their time... I mean... I love them! :D

(Kudos, Simone Giertz! :D)

Cheers!

AH-HA!!!

I know this is not true because if this were true you would not be able to distinguish user xxx69 from user 69xxx when you turn the server upside down! LIAR!

Hold on, are mods even allowed to have a sense of humor?

Most of them undergo surgery once they are promoted from a regular user to support. The surgery removes a funny bone from your body which eliminates your sense of humor but increases your life expectancy. I flat out refused

In many cases where rerolls are involved, there will be more advanced support than super mods, and there is room for discussion among mods.
That can take a bit of time.

I know that some time will pass until a reroll, I just wondered why it shows in my account that I won the game 7 days ago but that was probably the original winners timing.

It has to do with the rights of GA creators. If the game you bought is given away on humble while you are going through the democratic process, the mod involved may end up looking like human models!
