So i won a giveaway for the game dUpLicity Beyond the Lies. But the giveaway creator said to me that the key is for desura (which he didn't mention in the description), and since i don't have a desura acc and it's not appealing to me i said thet he asks for a reroll or something since i don't want it.
It's been a week and there is no new winner, should i mark it as recived or not recived?

Thank you for the help.

Not received, because you didn't receive the steam game.

If he doesn't give you a Steam copy, you should mark as not received.

There are some games that give you a Steam key if you redeem on Desura, but I think the one you mention doesn't give you a key.

'Not received'. If you mark as received and somebody sees you don't have the game on your Steam account you could get banned. You shouldn't risk being banned just because he can't follow the rules. And also he shouldn't get CV and entry to better giveaways for breaking the rules. Seriously, screw that guy...

Suspended, not banned, but yes the rule is Steam redeemable games only. To OP, you should tell him why you are marking it as such anyway, so he knows where it went wrong.

Suspended or banned temporarily, but yeah I get your point. Personally I would discuss the matter with the gifter out of politeness but frankly I have little sympathy with folks who can't read the FAQ. Or pay attention to the fact that this is steamgifts and not desuragifts.

You should both read the FAQ, if you don't receive the exact steam key advertised in the GA you need to mark at as not received, otherwise you'll both get suspended.

1-This website is for giving away STEAM games only.Any other games on different DRM (Desura,origin,uplay....etc) can be given away in the forums or the orphan key thread
2-The giveaway creator MUST provide you with a steam key EVEN if he mentioned it's "desura key" in the description and if he don't send you one within & days "mark as not received"
3- You'll get yourself in trouble if you mark as received as someone might check your steam profile and when he/she notices that the game isn't in your library he/she'll consider that you haven't activated your winnings and report you to SG which will get you suspended. Not also this but also a number of users might blacklist you.

It looks like he gave duplicity as a Desura key to someone else too in the past whom marked it received. He doesn't have it on Steam now at any rate. He just got reported too for not activating.

edit: "Desura key boy" also regifted a game he won here recently.

Mark it as not received. It's the creator's responsibility to give you the correct game. Once you've marked it not received, the creator has incentive to solve the problem, one way or another.

Go after the gifter anyway. They gifted the same game before. That winner is missing just one game on their profile.

Not received. It's the creators fault for not reading the site rules properly. If he gets away with it, he will do it again so save someone else the trouble and mark it as not received.
