What makes you want to hide a game?
Also, achievement hunter and casual platformer games like Mountain Troll

Games/dlc I have that I can still enter
Games I gave away prior
Games I got on bundles/monthlies I didn't want that I either traded away or made GA's for
Anything that is VR

+1. If I'm interested in a game to play it I'll enter, if not I'll hide.

Reasons,
1- Already have that game, but was delisted on steam and steamgiveaways can't automatically hide it (like goo goo cubelets or parking rage simulator)
2- I take a look at the steam's page of the game, and I don't like it
3- It's a VR game (I don't play vr)

Both, as I am not receptive to this kind of art.
I have a lot of fun when I was young with my old pc and also an old atari 520 ST :) , even if the game were ugly.
But when the screen resolution of our computer has became highter, my mind has switched, and now I am not able to have fun with this kind of game.

I hide everything I don't think I would play, which is the vast majority of games.
On SG I have about 14.5K games hidden, and on Steam about 33K set to ignore.

It's pretty simple. If I am not interested in playing the game, it gets hidden. Isn't that what everyone does? I don't really see any other reason to hide a game unless you already own a different version and it isn't automatically being hidden. I currently have 13,368 hidden.
Edit: Or maybe you were asking how we decide what type of games to hide. I commented about that in a previous thread here.
Always: visual novel, tower defense, card game, grand strategy, VR, match 3, board game, clicker, pinball, city builder, text-based, dating sim, 4X, management
Over 90% of the time: RPGmaker, sports, simulation, bullet hell, memes, rhythm, JRPG, turn based, hex grid, hacking, MOBA, roguelike, anime, sandbox, RTS, Economy, runner
75-90% of the time: strategy, zombies, hidden object, casual

Since I only enter wishlisted games I don't tend to hide games unless I have to much time on my hands and then I will go through a page or 2. By then unless its a dlc I recognise I own I will only hide them if I've checked them out on their store page. If I end up ignoring it I'll also hide it on here. If it doesn't have a store page then I'll assume the worst and auto hide them

Nothing, I just ignore everything pretty much.
Just check wishlist and group as that often holds some interesting games.
Publics I just scroll through every blue moon. Less effort then trying to hide everything I don't like. I am 'hiding' everything I don't like I actually own on the backlog assassins site, and that is already way more work then I'd like it to be. Can't imagine the horror if I'd have to do the same for the whole of Steam's catalog. :P
So far I mostly use it for featured giveaways of games I consider hmm shady. Which I don't even want to enter by mistake. :P

Personally I like to hide Visual novels (as I find them boring) and anything below 5 points.
