Thanks for the tip! Had to redeem it through the Sims 3 portal. It's a bit of a unwieldy system but it worked in the end. Thank you!

I didn't take any, but for the future I recommend using http://keygiveaway.com
It supports Origin and Uplay as well as Steam and lets you see who viewed the keys.
