Are you going to change the 4 disguised referral links in your group description in the future? Cause, not every writer will like to be connected to a referral gathering program or to violating the steam TOS.

How professional are those blogs are planned to be? Will they appear in the group or in the curators part of steam? Or on a website/web blog? On YouTube? Some information about how the blog will be used would help. :)

When the blog starts earning money the referral links will be thrown away.

The blog will be a work in progress, changing accordingly to people's feedback, and it will grow with it. And with the responsibilities becoming bigger, the professionalism will do the same.

The blog is a website, maybe it will expand into a Steam curator page, but not now. And no plans for a Youtube channel.

Sorry for not letting this information clear in the first place

So, you are knowingly violating Steam's terms of service, but you'll stop later maybe. Am I understanding this correctly?

Groups have been banned in the past for doing exactly what you're doing right now.

Hey, I just use them to make more giveaways for you! How is that bad? I know that a lot of people spam referrals, but you only have to check the group to see that is impossible to do that amount of giveaways without them, at least for now.

With the blog's earning, the group would be free from that.

Groups that are much bigger and don't need it anymore use referrals. What I am doing is temporary.

I'm not saying it's bad, I'm saying it violates Steam's terms of service, and is a good way to have your group banned.

It doesn't matter that it's temporary.

Sure mate. But is the only way now.
It's better to do this, where nobody looses anything and people only click if they want to, then make the members give you games to distribute. Way better.
Also, check the great things we do on the group, like helping indies and stuff ;)

I have considered writing drunken game reviews. Maybe suggesting beer/game pairings.

But then, I always have good ideas that get relegated to the scrap heap.

Send your good ideas. They are always appreciated ;)

Really, a creative person is needed everywhere, the blog is not a exception. If you consider yourself capable, then by all means, send your article :)

Define "capable"

Capable of writing great articles periodically.

Capable of transferring your ideas into paper (not really paper in this case, but you understood)

That's a given. I can do that. Deadlines, though? oooooh deadlines. Periodically for me means once every 6 months.

;)
Periodically would mean weekly

I would be a terrible contributor. Or, a GREAT one! no one could wait for the next article to drop! they would hit the site 8 times a day to see what I ramble on about! Exclamation points and broken grammar! Short sentence structure and vodka flavored witticisms!

Thanks for the backup! Remind him that I should be the top paid contributor!

I also get the highest thread counts on this site. That means something, just not sure what. Something something douche.

Are you saying I suck on other sites? I won't argue with that. In fact, I suck on this one too. Most people are just blinded by free shit. Money can't buy happiness, but by god it can but votes. and pussy.

Did you ever think of teaming up with some other group?

You know, since holding giveaways can be pretty expensive over time, it might be an advantage to have more admins in a group that contribute to the giveaways. I thought, I am the admin that holds giveaways in my group and you are the admin that holds giveaways in your group. I also have a website where I tend to write "articles" on various topics. But, all that is very time and money consuming. I am sure many of your members are also in my group and of course vice versa. A way to get rid of referral programs might be to fuse with another group. This way, it would be easy to split the work. And with more contributors and writers/admins a group would grow pretty easy.

If you are interested in that idea, you might wanna add me on steam so that we can put our heads together.

Thank you for suggesting such idea. The problem is that the group is really young, for something of these proportions I would like to see where everything is going first :)
