I actually grew up around Anchorage and remember some nights when the weather conditions caused this. Quite beautiful to see in person, but the intensity is brought out much more by the longer exposure of nighttime photography.

For those who solved the puzzle: I am very sorry, I had to delete the Deponia Doomsday giveaway as it is region restricted.
Solution
I was mostly lurking the past month, and I think it will stay this way most of the time :/
I have a couple of imho good ideas for puzzles and have now implemented a few of those.
There are 5 path I will not call them trains, because of missing straight lines to start your journey. You should look a little bit to the scenery left and right of your path, you should watch the sky and the ground and maybe take a look at your tourguide's ID. If you do so you will find a couple of treasures along the way.
