If the winner of my giveaway is suspended, and the giveaway has been finished for 6 days, is it going to count as a not received for me since he can't activate it withing the 7 days? I've given away a few games but never have experienced this scenario before. Thank you.

U can reroll the giveaway, if your winner is suspended.

And no, it won't be counted as not received, but neither as received

suspended winners can be rerolled.

- if he was suspended and you didn't send the gift/key, ask for a reroll.
- if you already sent the game, wait till the guy comes back and marks it as received.

and answering your question, a suspended user can't mark wins as received or not received, so the feedback remains neutral.

Clarification: If you sent the game before they were suspended.

If you sent it after, they couldn't have activated it in the first place- a suspended user can only access the support section of the site.

Generally your best bet for a suspended winner is to put in a reroll request immediately [even if you for some reason don't actually want to reroll, support has clarified this is the correct header to use when discussing such a matter] and ask for more information on the matter.

support can tell you when the user was first suspended, letting you decide if it's safe to have them reroll the giveaway [which is always guaranteed approved for suspended users].

i already said that:

  • if he was suspended and you didn't send the gift/key, ask for a reroll.

The key is marked as sent, but looking at the profile it's not activated so I am not sure. I'll have to see when they were suspended from support.

just wait then, if he got access to the key there's nothing else you can do. when he comes back ask the winner to mark as received, simple.

That's certainly not what I'd do.
Just hide the key, ask support what to do.

Hell, WHENEVER you're in doubt, ask support.

While support has had some occasional negative quirks, they've always been extremely good in responding to rule clarifications, of which I've requested quite a few from them, and in clarifying how to approach situations.

You're missing a third logical path clarification, which I addressed.

  1. Didn't send
  2. Did send before
  3. Did send after

When the key was originally sent, he was not suspended. I check all my winners for not activated/re-gifts etc. Usually at the 4+ level you don't see that sort of thing. So I'm assuming he was suspended shortly after the giveaway ended and before he was able to check and activate the key. The user is on a 5 day suspension, with 3 days remaining it looks like so I'm not sure what the offense was. He has been on the site though while suspended. Last login was 19 hours ago.

Actually, I've seen quite a few level 4 users who've been suspended :X
Definitely far, far less common than levels below that, though.

And yes, you can be on the site while suspended, but you're locked out of accessing any part other than the support tab.

I believe support can check if a key was accessed, but if not, then with that time-frame, may be best to wait, for your own sake.

Either way, really, I recommend asking support when you're unsure about something, they're typically very good in giving you a clear idea of what your situation is and options are.

Happened to me once. I sent the key to the winner and apparently he was suspended shortly afterwards.
I could see from his Steam account that he had not activated the game.
I decided to wait for his suspension to end and he actually marked the game received something like 10 days later after his suspension ended.

I might have to do this because the key was sent through the site and he wasn't suspended when I sent it.

There is no limit to how long a giveaway can remain in 'limbo', with no feedback marked.
If no feedback is marked after 7 days, the giveaway creator- assuming they attempted to contact the winner, or the winner was suspended- is allowed to request a reroll at any time.

Not received and received both have to be marked manually. The only thing the 7 day rule really applies to is allowing winners to mark Not Received, or allowing rerolls on non-suspended users. It doesn't directly mechanically affect anything.

if you showed the key, I don't recoommend risk to ask for reroll since you don't know exaclty what person did with the key.
you can do anything after 7 days. you don't have to solve the problem "in the" or "til the" 7th day.
if this happens with me I would choose to wait winner feedback...
