It's good game, easily worth it's current price. If someone like nice climatic FPS game then it should buy it. Why you think it's weird they have a discount? You think all 5 mln Steam users have it?

What were they thinking ? Well what happened is that the publisher who was giving away free keys was THQ which has gone bankrupt and is no longer an owner of Metro2033 distribution rights. Metro franchise was bought by Deep Silver who now made this sale... so that should answer your question. They weren't thinking because they didn't make that decision. They are just trying to earn some money and make some publicity for the franchise before the sequel is released.
