You cant.

You can only activate it by using an IP masking service (proxy or VPN). By doing this, however, you will violate Steam's Terms of Service, and this may lead to suspension of your account.

Comment has been collapsed.

Not really. If you use a Proxy to BUY games it's against the ToS, but since he already OWNS the key, he can activate it by using a proxy without a problem.

Try reading the TOS again. ANY use of a proxy violates the current Steam TOS.

Except when you want to play games that are ALREADY activated.

Steam support is notoriously inconsistent and misinformed. I would not count on one low level staff member's opinion in a dicey situation like this.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I doubt they are misinformed on their on policies, that could get them in serious trouble, and valve is not one to take such a serious risk.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Wrong. You aren't allowed to use a proxy or VPN to connect to Steam, period. Read the TOS properly. People getting away with an incidental usage of a VPN to quickly activate 1 or 2 keys are lucky, and fly under the radar of Valve due to not doing it all the time, that's all.

Comment has been collapsed.

Wrong! I was talking about playing games not activating keys. I know that's not allowed!
I talked to support staff and they said it's okay to connect and play games with a proxy. If you think you know better than support staff, well then... this conversation is pointless! -_-

Steam TOS

You agree that you will not use IP proxying or other methods to disguise the place of your residence, whether to circumvent geographical restrictions on game content, to purchase at pricing not applicable to your geography, or for any other purpose. If you do this, we may terminate your access to your Account.

Yeah, I guess I did, lol.

Lol, why do they assume that is how every girl types on the internet? And they use the same overused pictures, that are obviously a model, or a porn star, yet still expect everyone to believe they are female.

If you aren't happy with your sex, stop buying games on Steam and instead use the cash on surgery.
If you like being flirted to by other guys, just come out, nothing wrong with it.

Btw: you're not really buying games on Steam, but rather the access to games. For you as user it does not really make a difference, unless they ban you and you try to argue that those are your games.

Actually, games on steam are not your game. You just buy the privilege to use them. And this counts at other games too.It sucks, but this is the life....

"Hotspot Shield"? Lol? Yeah everyone, go download that one, which has been flagged multiple times for malware / trojans / rootkits.

Also, using a VPN / proxy to as much as log on to Steam can get your account suspended - it has happened before. You've been lucky so far, but every time you sign in using that shit, it leaves a nice little log of used IPs over at Valve. Probably they have some sort of conditions set to mark accounts for human checking. Who knows what their triggers are? If they see that shit and check out the IP used, they'll most likely see it's not your real IP, and you can get in trouble.
