Is amnisea so scary?

did you play it in optimal conidtions? dark room, alone, headphones in?
if you did not feel scared at all doing that then you have balls of steel

It isn't that bad, once you start ignoring the random background noises and just listen for the drums/monster music you can just rush through no problem. I think the scariest thing was no option to turn off that annoying fucking grinding sound you hear when you go insane.

Which Is pretty good for a jump or two. Its only drawback is that it's very short; however, there are two endings to find, a good one and a bad one.

Amnesia isn´t that scary as you might expect but it´s not kind of game which will show you everything from start. It gets far worse later just give it more time to show you more.

As recommendation aside those mentioned here I would say: The Suffering which is currently FREEWARE game worth to try and I guess you prefer scarier FPS than horror genre. But you can still play some Silent Hill, RE3, Call of Cthulhu etc.

Amnesia is scary dude, just live yourself a little into it, if you know what I'm saying

Well, different people get scared by different things I guess.
It's the other way around for me, games where "somthing is jumping on the screen" aren't scaring me at all. It's just too predictable.
But the way games like the Penumbra series and Amnesia depend on the players' imagination and good storytelling to produce horror have the potential to scare me alot. Similiar to that the explicitly goriest games don't really get to me but the scene in Amnesia where you read about how those instruments of torture work - but you only hear it and don't see anything- caused me an upset stomach.

So for me personally the best horror games are well-written and don't let me actually see the horrors (or penalise the player for directly looking at them like Penumbra/Amnesia).

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. Underground levels full of "BUT I'm afraid to DEATH when somthing is jumping on the screen !!"
And yes, I think Amnesia is scary. I hate darkness, I hate monsters. Maybe you didn't play long enough? It gets scarier.

Hm, jump scares then? Well, I guess Singularity has a few of those and it slightly similar to Metro 2033(Or at least seems similar from the little gameplay of Metro 2033 I've seen.).
Resident Evil 4 also has some jump scares, although it's quite heavy on action at the expense of it's horror elements.
Alan Wake is a nice horror game however it's more about the story rather than the action. :)

The problem you have is that you don't immerse yourself in the things you do. Amnesia is one of those games where anxiety builds into fright as you play. You are the type that just plays games just to finish it or to "check it out".

I haven't played Amnesia too much (I started it yesterday), but it surely scares me xD. And I didn't play it all alone, my BF was sitting next to me (minding his own business, but still...), but if I'm totally by myselft I'm sure I'll get scared even more. It's a great game.
