Silent Hill 2 or Korsakovia?
Usually all a game can do is just startle me with something jumping on me, which i hate. But Korsakovia scared me, though see for yourself, maybe i'm just weird. (It's a source mod btw)

Dead Space is the scariest i think with its visual and audio effects. Amnesia is giving you headache though.

Different people have different tastes. I think that Amnesia is scary and the monsters are the scariest part. When he moves you don't know where he went, you go around trying to see him, but he's gone.

Wow... I've never seen someone who prefers jump scares to actual horror. In that case definitely go for Doom 3. But wait for Doom 3 BFG edition.

Maybe carefully following the story in Amnesia would have helped giving him more the feeling of being scared. Maybe not, but sometimes it helps when you understand what is going on. Fear doesn't always comes from the unknowing, but also from knowing ;)

Let's see... Siren, Anna, Silent Hil.. Maybe Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. I did not find it that scary, but it can be creepy.

amnesia it self is not so scary but try custom stories!They are better than the original story!Other scary games: Slender,Sanatorium,Hospice,scp-087,scp(security containment breach simulator or something of that sort lolz),penumbra(overture,black plague,requirem)

I mean come on, it was in the HiBV! It has a good story too, if you can follow it.

amnesia is not scary... it creates a PANIC feeling... thats what makes it "scary"

i know you said not to mention penumbra but i cant stress enough how great those games are(1+2. 3 is just puzzles)

Only PC games or consoles also? Since better survival horror games stay on consoles ;)
