Good morning, I sold my rx470 for 280€ + a cooler master mini itx case and a MSI H110I PRO mini itx. I'm happy for that, I spent less for my rx470.
Now... I want to upgrade my pc without spend all the 280€ but like 100€ max. I suppose that's impossible using the new case and mobo, found a lot of intel with price so high.

My pc is:

Asus M2N4-SLI AM2

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+

8GB(4x2gb dual channel, different couples) ram DDR2 (are working 314 Mhz, I think that's strange. I should do some testes removing before a couple and then the other).

Ati Radeon HD 4800

About CPU I was thinking about buy low price a Phenom II x4 black edition(30/40€) but I really can't get if I can put that on my mobo. That is not in the list of compatible CPU for my mobo, but I read about a lot of peoples that used that series on AM2, or upgrading bios. In case I have to upgrade bios I'm a little bit scared about that :/

About GPU I was thinking to buy low price a HD 6850(30€) or HD 6870(45€).

That's what I want but I'm scared that the CPU doesn't work and that I create a Bottleneck too high. I Just want to upgrade my pc for like a year until I find a job and I build a real pc xD.

I should buy a combo mobo+FX+ram, or mobo+FX and put my ddr2 if exists a mobo with FX and ddr2.

I don't know, anyone can help me? :D THANKS

About ram - try CPU-Z software - probably it is 314*2=628 Mhz one and 628 another = 1256 both. But they may have different timings so mobo+FX and put my ddr2 check it twice)

I'm not a "pro" in it but according to your screens:
1st screen - about dc mode - it can be ganged (speeds up single-threaded programs) or unganged (accelerates multi-threaded programs) - not sure why it isn't shown.
dram frequency - it is 314 2=628 Mhz ( 2 because it is ddr2 - for example DDR2-800 will transmit data at a frequency of 400MHz, but due to the doubled data transmission frequency will have a speed like ordinary memory at 800MHz, which is used by marketers for the policy of "large numbers")
fsb:dram - it shows the ratio of the memory frequency and the system bus - some people say the ideal is 1:1
2 and 3 screens:
In short, memory latencies or timings represent the number of clock cycles that memory waits to deliver some data. The different values (CL, tRCD, tRP, tRAS, and CR) represent the waiting times in specific situations, like row and column changes (since data is organized in memory as a matrix) or between different commands.
AFAIK it is not advisable to mix and match different memory manufacturers and memory timings. As with different memory manufacturers it may not even work. It is best to use the same memory in all memory banks.

So do you think that is better 4gb dual channel than mixed 8gb dual channel like me? Thank you

I sold my rx470 for 280€ (...) I spent less for my rx470.

Well done, sold to a miner I guess ;)

Your Asus MB doesn't support Phenom processors. I suppose you want a quad core CPU and you don't want to buy new RAM (because it's expensive right now), so you need a CPU+MB to use your DDR2.

My recommendation is: go for Intel, a 2nd hand socket 775 board (with P45 chipset for example) and a quad core CPU. You could also try the Xeon Mod (if you find a suitable MB).

You'll get more performance with Intel, AMD was the best option until Intel launched their Core 2 processors.

Yeah sold to a miner I think :) or a guy that know a miner to sell that for more. I don't know. How much do you think I spend to buy for the new mobo that the guy gave to me? Always talking about 2nd hand. An i5 quad and ddr4 ram

ty for reply :)

I don't think you can find an i5 and DDR4 for less than 200-250€, even in the 2nd hand market. The socket 1151 is pretty new as the DDR4 memory and the price of the RAM has skyrocketed.

Yeah, that's what I thought :( ty. I'll check the different roads that you posted before and I suppose I'll sell the case+mobo or wait that prices drop

Of course, if you're not going to use them sell them immediately, and when you have money in the future go for a complete Ryzen rig with 8 cores :)

When I will have money to spend for a real pc I won't need the money saved this time, I just want to take a little time in the meanwhile
