As you might now some of the older games have received a "Definitive version" steam page and the old games are either unlisted or seen separately, and for the new ones it doesn't show that the game has trading cards

For example, Sleeping Dogs Definitive vs Sleeping Dogs

So does that actually mean that there are no trading cards or they are still included but just not shown? Thanks

well that's pretty dumb ngl, so I have to find a way to get an old key for an unlisted version just to have the cards :/

The cards are going for 7 cents each. You can get the badge for 50-60cents if that's what you want.

Hi Snbac

No there are no trading cards for SD Definitive Edition.

Despite there being no trading card icon listed this doesn't always mean there are no trading cards for the game. That icon isn't an automated thing, it actually has to be enabled by the dev, so sometimes this is not updated. There is an SG topic that posts such games:
https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/zaE7V/games-that-have-cards-and-many-do-not-know
I don't find that topic particularly useful myself, I usually just check Steam Card Exchange and browse for the game:
https://www.steamcardexchange.net/index.php?showcase

Also for trading cards to be enabled for a game, one of the requirements is that they must sell (via Steam Store), a certain number of copies, for Sleeping Dogs I think if you had the original you got automatically upgraded to the Definitive Edition, so all those copies don't count. It may have taken them a few years to actually reach the target that Steam had at that time (I think they have lowered it now), however the devs, United Front Games, closed down about 2 after Definitive Edition released. As such the option has never and will never be activated for this game.

Hope this answers all of your questions.

A small correction, back at the time when Sleeping Dogs released the rule that a game had to sell a certain amount of copies through the Steam store before the devs could add trading cards wasn't a thing, it got added years after the fact to combat the deluge of asset flips being uploaded to the store just to generate revenue through cards. Also it's pretty evident that some AAA publishers can negotiate that rule away as there's examples of games where cards go live on the day of release.
