RTX 4060 power efficiency is well and good but it is still a disappointment compared to the RTX 3060. I'd wait until May to see if prices for the newly released RTX refreshes are going down noticeably as you can't expect considerable price drops right after they came to market.
The RTX 4070 Super isn't a bad choice although 12 GB VRAM is underwhelming if you're planning to play the most demanding games now and in the nearer future in 1440p highest settings. Personally I'd only buy a new card with at least 16 GB VRAM but on Nvidia's roaster that's beyond your budget unfortunately.
Edit:and don't make me laugh with the RTX 4060 TI 16GB.

Genuine question, what's wrong about the RTX 4060 TI 16GB? 😅

Do you think that price of RTX 4070 SUPER will go down this year and why?
No, why would it? It's not like it has any competitors in its price range. At the very least not until August/September, when new GPUs are usually announced officially.

It won't go down by much, since the next gen isn't expected to be released before CES 2025.
Though I don't think, that the 4070 super is the best choice.
12GB of VRAM isn't exactly future-proof for 1440p gaming.
Go at least with the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, or you might regret it later on.
If that is not an option for you, then you might want to consider going with one of AMD's 16GB models - not everyone needs/wants the features which justify the upcharge of Nvidia GPUs.
The RX 6800 XT or RX 6900 XT might be a good choice here.
Otherwise simply wait a bit longer just to see how much the prices are going down.

All right. I thought so, I just don't follow the market so much, so I wanted to be sure.
Thanks guys.

Finally, do you guys have favorite manufacturer? ASUS? MSI? Gigabyte?

You can be lucky or unlucky with any brand. Concerning 4000 series GPUs we saw an unusual surge of cracked PCBs especially from Gigabyte although I blame system integrators shipping their pre-builts with GPU installed. Then there's the issue with the new high power connectors melting where Cablemod had an oopsy recently with their 90 degree adapters.
Overall I'd say any evidence is anecdotal as sample sizes are to low. If you mount a GPU heavy weight in your computer do it vertically or horizontally only with adequate support strut.

never had problems with asus but thats just my case and the support varies from country to country

Unless there is a massive problem with a brand that affects many/all of it's products, just look at the individual product and it's reviews instead.
Mindless brand loyalty only benefits the company, not the customer.

There will always be a new graphics card coming out. If the news is not hyping the next graphics card right this instant, then you probably have to wait a few months before the new card comes out.

Consider RX 7800XT / RX 6900 if is in this price range in your location.
I currently on RX 6700 10GB Cyberpunk 2077 1440P ULTRA giving me 47FPS I need FSR to reach 60.

Short version:
Do you think that price of RTX 4070 SUPER will go down this year and why?
Long version:
Hi guys, I am looking for GPU advice.
I game at 1440p (QHD) and still have RX 5700 XT. It still is a decent card, but I have opportunity to give it to my father and buy a new one for myself.
I scoured the internets and I am amazed by RTX 4060 low power consumption (115 W on paper, 120-125 in real conditions). But I am really inclined to finally buy something, so I can play Cyberpunk with nice graphics. I am contemplating RTX 4070 SUPER. Yes, there are better ones, but this is absolute limit in price for me. I read that some new model might come at the turn of the year 2024/2025, but otherwise nothing conclusive.
So here comes the question.
Do you think that price of RTX 4070 SUPER will go down this year and why?
Thanks. I appreciate any input.
