My question is: Should I mark it as received or not?

This is a normal thing for keys that are generated before release.

Did it activate the game that was given away? If yes, mark as received. If not, do not mark as received.

If the key turns out to be a true beta key then the product will be removed from your account, and then you can contact support to get mark removed (and potentially creator suspended).
