I got it for cheap from a 'screw-up' on the russian Ubistore a while back.. if it works like it did for Assassin's Creed AC4 I will have a key show up a few days before the release that I will then need to add into my Uplay. But I have no way of actually knowing for sure and it may work differently depending where you bought it.

I ordered a physical copy (Vigilante Edition) and got a confirmation e-mail. Not sure if it shows in my account as an unreleased game though as I havent checked and cant right now coz im at work and my login details are at home. You wont get a key until nearer release.

With all the manually downloading, installing, updating every single patch one by one, then installing it. Really you had no problems with Uplay? Cause last time I tried to play a game I wanted to kill myself after 5 hours of manual retarded clicks. Oh you must update the game click download, oh you must install the update click install, oh you must download a new update click download again, repeat 10 times, then jump out of the window.

Because I don't like to have Double DRM games on Steam + If I buy a gameo of Ubisoft, I want to have it on their dedicated digital platform, same goes to EA. In addition, there are more interesting deals in my currency. + I'm not a Steam whore, If there's a chance to grab some game in DRM-free version, I take it.

Why the hell would someone preorder a game? What benefits you get from that? The only one benefitting is either the publisher or the distributor, you don't get nothing from it. Please stop this nonsense.

Then this doesn't apply for you because you basically bought the game with a price that probably wouldn't drop in 3-4 years.

Yes, that's correct. My friend actually bought South Park on Day 1, same price as an pre-order version but didn't received any bonuses, if there were any. I've asked him why did he bought it so quick after release and he said, I JUST WANT TO PLAY THAT FUCKING GAME!. I think that's another reason why people buy games on Day 1 and do pre-orders.

You sometimes get some good deals for it and if you know you'll buy it on release day (I never trust reviews, I make my own opinion), you might as well do a preorder if it includes some nice DLC (like AC4 did) or other bonus.
But sure, you're buying it unseen. I've been burned before and I will again, but it's ok.

I only want Steam version because it has a Digital Deluxe Edition. Or maybe I will just buy the Vigilante or Dedsec Edition. BTW Have you seen this in the description?: Purchase Watch_Dogs™ Deluxe Edition now and receive the following bonus items: EXCLUSIVE CONTENT:
• 60 min of additional gameplay – 4 exclusive missions
• A unique DedSec White Hat Hacker suit unlocked upon completion of the missions.
• Hacking Boost (Add 1 Battery Slot)
• A deeper knowledge of DedSec, an important faction in the Watch_Dogs universe.
Isn't that exclusive to Playstation owners? And more importantly: The Digital Deluxe Edition doesn't include Season Pass? That looks like a total BS for me. I mean we have to pay 60 EUR/$/pounds for the Digital Deluxe Edition and the 20 more for Season Pass? Please Ubi you can't do that! Anyway this game will better be awesome. I can't wait till May 27th!

That's the reality, Funny that Digital versions of the game are more expensive then a physical copies (retail if you like). That's just hilarious. But hey, there's a logic that runs in masterminds from distributors, WANT STEAM? GIVE ME MORE MONEYYYY! I'm just glad I don't have to pay the same amount of money for the same thing as console gamers in Poland (my country), here, new console releases costs around twice as much as PC retail games, not to mention that Steam prices are WAY TOO BIG comparing to retail market prices. Usually, new PC retail releases in Poland costs around 100 PLN which is an equivalent of 25€ where on Steam, new releases costs around 200PLN and more which is around 50€, some games costs around 60€ (Call of Duty Ghosts is an example)+ add a Season Pass price to it. That's why I'm glad that I've exploited a bug in Ubishop where I payed 44,95 PLN (11€/15$)

If you are buying a game through Uplay: both. You will be E-mailed with a receipt containing a key, however this key will be already used on your own account.

Have you received any kind of confirmation WITH a game key, or your game has been added to your Uplay account already?
