DiRT 2 or 3

Good day ladies and gents,
since the DiRT franchise is part of the midweek madness, i'd like to know which game you think is better. I played DiRT 3 and i liked it, so i'd buy it, but i heard people say DiRT 2 is better. Looking at the screenshots, DiRT 2 looks more like a stadium racer, iirc DiRT 3 is more a "real" rally game, which i prefer. So what do you guys think?

Dirt 2 looks more like a real rally game, the one that seems a stadium racer is showdown.
I would buy Dirt 2 coz is cheaper and more "rally-kind" than Dirt 3 although I've all them... I've just purchased Dirt 2 ;)

i own showdown and it's not my type of game so yeah thanks for the recommendation. just wondering because everything i can see in the dirt 2 trailer looks like the x-game stuff. also dirt 2 has no classic cars like the audi quattro i guess?

pretty sure you will enjoy dirt 2 has different classes such as rally, rally cross, rally raid and landrush. The amount of unlockable rallies is alot so you will most likely end up not finishing the game ;).. All in all its a very enjoyable game regardless

Dirt 2 is better for singleplayer + cheaper. But I do believe that the multiplayer modes in Dirt 3 are better (cat and mouse ftw).

Dirt 3 multiplayer is horrible. You spend more time in menus waiting for countdowns (really, how many countdowns there are before each race, it's really stupid) than actually racing.

So, it's horrible just because you need to wait? I'm sorry, I try to enjoy games when I play them. I've had a lot of fun playing multiplayer in Dirt 3, because it offered something different from the singleplayer.

Yeah, something like that, though CMR2 is a bit too old by today's standards in graphics, but the series has been going downhill for years. It went from a serious racing game to this loud vulgar americanized X-Games arcade crap that we have today.

Me? I wouldn't compare DiRT 3 with Flatout UC (the only 2 I've played) Dirt takes itself semi-seriously. Flatout doesn't so it's not a good comparison. That's like comparing Portal and CoD because you have a gun...

2, don't be fooled into thinking that just because it's an older game on the franchise, it's not good or looks bad. Dirt 2 has different types of races. Some take place in tracks, others are off road rally style.

DiRT 3 is a really good rally game. DiRT 2 is supposed to be an even better more rally game. DiRT Showdown is a stadium racer that borrows a lot stuff from 3 and isn't supposed to be good.

Get both 2 and 3?
