This thread reminds me of the spambots that I have to deal with on a daily basis on the PSP forum that I moderate. o_O

I know your apologised for your English, but I'm afraid I can't understand a single thing there.

That's already how it works. Contributions over a year old don't count toward contributer value.

Yeah the FAQ doesn't really mention all the little details. cg mentioned it in the forums though, of course since contributer status isn't a year old yet this doesn't really mean much to people yet. I have a feeling once we hit the one year mark we'll see a bunch of forum posts complaining about it.

Fuckin' eh right. If I'd known that the tiny advantage I'd bought via hosting giveaways would expire after a year, I wouldn't have bothered. A rule like that needs to be publicized.

Seems to serve no purpose except to piss off the people who keep this site alive by giving away games...

I hope that doesn't come into place, seems like such an anti-reward for contributors.
Even more so if they come unto hard times and can't keep giving away games every month.

Care to back that with a link? I remember it being discussed at the time but never heard of it being applied.

Translation: Show how much you have contributed total since you joined as a historical statistic, but only have what you contributed in the past year count for getting into give aways. You gave away $1,000 1 year ago - 1 Day, and last week you gave away $5. your contributor value as of yesterday was $1,005. Today marks 1 year from that $1,000 give away, your new contributor total is $5, your Historical value is $1,005. That is what I believe FiuRy is saying.

my translation:
There will be two ways of counting contributor points. The first one, a value that will never changed that is based on the amount of price value of the giveaways.
The other part will be a value that gets erased every year and there will be a sweepstakes for the contributors.
All of this already exist. Although the value is reset every month not year as in the stats page, not the profile

Why restrict your apology to the Poms?
They don't have a monopoly on grievous disappointment at the fact there is no compensatory hidden giveaway here...

Ideally, there were two ways of counting the value of the taxpayer.
A total that will never change and be reflected as information only.
Another part, perhaps annual erase every year and that it will be to win the sweepstakes.
Sorry English
