Dead Island or Dead rising?

I voted Dead Island.

Dead Rising can be fun but the timer always pissed me off.

because if you had the choice/money whatever and dying light was an option, id say dying light is way way way more fun than dead island, so getting dead island would be a redundant option. dying light rocks!!!

I have never played Dead Rising. As for Dead Island it is a good game and I feel its somewhat underrated because when the game came out there was massive hype about it with those dope commercials they made and it didn't quite live up to it. When I watch the preview for Dead Rising it seems a little bit silly and more about mashing buttons. Dead Island has more of a scary feeling world/atmosphere.

If you're planning to get Dead Island, you can only get the remastered version on Steam.

Don't get Dear Rising 2 OTR if you have an X Box gamepad. It doesn't work. 360 or XBone.

The pre-rendered trailer for Dead Island was better than the entire game.

I never played Dead Rising, but I can say Dead Island is VERY good! Even better would be Dying Light!

Dead Rising by far

For some reason the original Dead Island and Riptide gave me really bad motion sickness. The original versions lacked an FOV slider in the options menu but even using a 3rd party mod to change the FOV didn't completely alleviate the problem. The last time I played a game that did it this bad was Wolfenstein 3D ages ago. I hope you're not prone to motion sickness and I hope the remastered versions don't have these same issues.

Funny, I actually liked Dead Island better. I like the simple RPG factors in it and the looting/selling factors. I tend to be pretty patient with my games, so that's the play mode that I prefer. I think that if you like games like Borderlands, you'll probably prefer Dead Island like I do (totally different settings/vibes, but similar game play). If you like something that is purely more action-focused, then Dead Rising is probably the right answer. They're both good games, though.

I'm so surprised Dead Island is winning the poll. I mean wow. It's probably because DR is relatively new to Steam compared to DI.

Dead Island is decent fun, but gets repetitive after a while, and is quite mediocre in many ways. Dying Light is by far the better version of that game in every way. So if you're leaning more towards Island, just grab Dying Light instead.

On the other hand, Dead Rising is quite an original zombie game. I've played through it maybe 4 or 5 times so far. Both the first and second games are quite good. You can ignore the later ones.

dead island, i never liked what i heard and saw about the time limit in rising. but i suppose there's some mod or tweak to remove it.

i know it's way more expensive but if you can, get dying light instead.

prefer Dead Rising, Dead Island had a lot of glitches and performance problems on my PC, and beyond that i didnt find the game that fun. or interesting, buy for mowing zombies down no game compares to the Dead Rising series.

i prefer State of Decay over both of them :P
