Can be helpful to avoid the game to whitelist every kind of game where you aren't interested.
Like I am not interested in all this simulator or dating games and I have to manually keep a whitelist list every day to hide them.

Option to sync Steam's Not Interested list into SteamGifts filter list
https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/6yyyI/option-to-sync-steams-not-interested-list-into-steamgifts-filter-list#EHVFoG2

I do not know if these techniques are still available today.
However, it seems to be something that was explored in the past.
In theory, it seems to me that the settings made on the Steam side should carry over.

Steamgifts++ BETA [0.4.9 - Gridview Fix] -
https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/86O3g/steamgifts-beta-049-gridview-fix/

🤔Does this still work today? I haven't tried it, but I don't think there is any mention in the discussion that it is no longer available.

Regarding the second link (well third actually), remove the / at the end:
https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/86O3g/steamgifts-beta-049-gridview-fix
Alternativey just use the code and get rid of the topic title:

It can be done with ESGST, since it has an option to retrieve user-defined tags and filter by them.

Permissions - you probably need at least the two which mention categories, that's esgst.rafaelgomes.xyz and store.steampowered.com .

General - Endless Scrolling - Enable for Giveaway Filters (optional, useful for testing)

https://www.steamgifts.com/account/settings/profile?esgst=settings&id=es_gf
Best also enable "Show page dividers" so you notice that it's doing something.

Giveaways - Giveaway Filters - Multiple Filters - Genres

Games - Game Categories - Genres - User-Defined Tags

https://www.steamgifts.com/account/settings/profile?esgst=settings&id=gc_g

Games - Game Filters - Multiple Filters - Genres

If you want to filter simulator and dating games, you would have to enter this in the genre filter:

dating sim, simulation

For illustration, I chose to only show dating games, so you can see what would be filtered.
The filter can be inverted or disabled by clicking the check box.

Thanks for this! I enabled everything you mentioned, and I still don't get the filter option :(

You probably also need to set permissions (1st feature/option). Not sure if there's something else I missed.
Do you get a bar saying "Expand filters"? You need to click on it.

You also need to enable the hierarchy above each option apparently. I hoped ESGST would automatically do this but turns out it doesn't. So for example, if you enabled "Giveaways - Giveaway Filters - Multiple Filters - Genres", then you also need to enable:

Giveaways - Giveaway Filters - Multiple Filters
and
Giveaways - Giveaway Filters

Finally, you also need to save the changes you made.
