Weird Steam Community hiccup?

It seemed like I was logged out, as well as everyone else on my buddy list, and it took me like five minutes to get back on. Im in San Francisco, CA, USA. Anyone else have this happen to them?

It was just scheduled maintenance. I really think people should check steam's twitter/facebook beforehand, or steam perhaps could have a notification about it pop-up before it goes down.
