a few isles down will have a cliff notes section.. I would go with "cliff note for 5,000 words" to be safe. They also have the mini cliffs for anything under 100.. I own a copy of "cliff notes : how to remember where you put things" which is a life saver, almost forgot to put on my pants this morning, couldnt find them.

If i could upload pics of boobs and Half life 3 "leaks" i would if that would hold someones attention,lol.. Couldve made a shorter version but figured that any who had feelings or opinions in this matter would either read or comment w/ hopes of both.. But yes the length does warrant pics or l.e.d's at the least.

lol,
So Arma II has tons of non zombie content if one is up to the task or cares to explore.

Inb4 "didn't read" gifs.
Anyways, all these people who bought arma simply to play DayZ will be beating themselves in a few months when the stand alone comes out, and then things will go back to normal except for the fact that Arma 3 will have a bigger budget :P

Some are dismissing such a statement as being "speculative" or just overlooking it altogether. But I believe it to be true as well as something to consider if buying for just the Day Z mod.. If some can afford to buy now and worry about later later than great but for those who dont, well again this should be considered.

I'd have bought the thing if they gave it a halfway decent discount, even with the threat of DayZ coming out as a standalone in September. But 40% off as a daily deal? For that old of a game? Yea, they can go fuck themselves, and I'll wait until(if) the standalone game comes out.

Well you definately do not stand alone, many are thinking the same. So its possible for a "flash" Arma II sale, not likely BUT sometimes a little "noise" can do wonders. "noise" = open discussions etc.

It is the best business Development Solution for the company. Before Dayz I barely had an idea about there is an Arma game out there. I wouldn't be interested at all. The reason is simple. The game is targetting Niche Market. Small market who thinks mil. sim. is great.
The guy who extended the product market will be the project manager (improve his position in the company probably) and DayZ brand will stand alone.
On the otherhand DayZ's booming is a miracle for the company. Now they can expand their market with almost the same product. We know that they are going to seperate the DayZ from real Arma and Arma III launching will be spectacular, because now every gamer in the world has a brand awarness of the Company and product. This happened to the Half Life as well and many Others.
I have no idea WarZ as a random gamer and there is no clear evidence. Only rumour from other gamers as well.
Last words for the Community. Community will be the threath for the company and challenge. Most of the mil. sim. lovers were the loyal customers. Now they have new portfolio with Dayz. They will get the top profitable layer both side, atleast they will try. So thats why the have a aprox. 2-3 months to launch DayZ. The growth of the product is not mainly from the loyal and interested customers, they know that.
After DayZ release we all will be curious about the PPP ( Price Product Positioning [I didnt inclued other PPs coz not really relevant])
Have Fun for all old and new Arma / Bohemia lovers/players.
This would be a nice case in the Management Schools :)

Maybe not just a miracle, but a svaing grace. Nobody knows the exact state of Arma III, just speculation based on here say and tid bits.. Day z , if anything, helped smooth over any financial "hiccups" which may have been delaying A complete product/release of Arma III..

Or The War Z is gonna release sometime this fall...they started taking signups for the beta. It looks like it could be better than Day Z

This is a "copy cat", which as they say is the biggest form of flattery.. A good artist borrows, a great artist steals. War Z will be a Much more dynamic apocalyse in terms of gameplay and core. Talks of an mmo ish feel/world/base.

Right now you need the whole meal to play Day z, no skipping to dessert.. Some have been at odds in terms of the sale, its clear that the opinions are very black or white for the most part.. I was wondering what everyone thought in terms of Arma II, the price of todays sale, a buy or wait for those interested in Arma II the sim as well as those who just want Day z and/or both. I would also like to say this before going on further and i hope you take time to look this over, it is a long read but i hope you may at least take a peak and leave some feedback
The community / loyal fanbase is the breath of Arma II, a very devote soldier in Arma II's campaign of success and with that in mind:
The Day z mod was a clever way to have non-sim fans take a look and eventually buy a game that they normally would not have, this is a good thing for Bohemia as far as sales and demand as well as broader base of customers.
It is a bad time for future Arma II buyers, those in it strictly for the mil sim and this is due to the price point being less "flexible" which is a direct result to high demand for the Day Z mod. In theory the more money a company has the more it can do to build and expand in multiple areas.
Its a matter of opinion of the owners of Arma II in regards to if this will devide Arma II community into 2 divisions, Arma II roots and Arma II Day Z. Some will enjoy the best of both worlds but its clear that some who are in it for Day z and some who are in it for the mil sim exp..
Divide can be something which may not be a burden on the surface, But it can be devastating benath it. A sudden spike of net gains will often bring thoughts of "how to obtain more" and in this case its due to bringing zombies into one of the most accurate mil sims to ever hit the market.
I mention this because many Arma II roots are asking "wtf, they couldnt give this game away at one point and actually marked them down for 100 percent off, 75 percent off during another sale so why cant i get into this game for better savings than 40 percent?"
Those who want the day z mod may have simular questions and also feel that "too much just 2 play day z"
Well there is no middle ground right now, Day Z is why the price point will not budge beyond 40 percent as of today and unfortunately the time to buy this sim was last year, although day z may not interest you and its the same mil sim it was since the last sale (minus other mods/content) One major difference, Day z mod injecting popularity and high demand..
My advice for those looking for the mil sim for a cost which is along the same lines as the other sales, wait until the stand alone release of Day Z.. For those who are saying the game is priced a bit high, essentially you are correct, its price point has been lower and the game is now older so for Arma II the mil sim the savings is not on track with past savings and the age of this game..
Day z buyers, unfortunately the sim part is the foundation of this game, its blood flows mil sim , it is a bit steep for just the day z mod , thats big dough for just a mod so if Arma II is not very appealing i would wait for the stand alone which will also be in a much more polished state..
THE WAIT.. Since the mod is from an employee of bohemia it may as well be made from bohemia and will pan out as if it were, they are not trying to speed up the process of seperating the mod from Arma II , there is too much money flowing right now to engage in any process which speeds things up, Arma II obviously being the gateway to day z..
Also it gives Arma II longer "legs" , so any way they can find ways to net gains for an aging Arma II before the launch of Arma III they will, its only logical from a business standpoint that they captilize while they can.
So imo Arma II has been at the wrong end of the stick in terms of value, they have seen periods which have been less than optimal and to the point where there were giving copies away to increase word of mouth sales as well as popularity.
I also think they have been a pretty decent ezample of what gamers should want in devs etc, they have been "hands on" in terms of support and the community has been very loyal as well. Arma II may have been worthy of a better overall profit margin by way of content, support and exp. If thats the case then the day z mod has definately smoothed that area out for them.
Whether it was purely a more "slol act" or if this was more a strategic "team effort/plan" to release this mod will never be known, only a few people know this information but it did warrant a boost in popularity as well as sales, whether or not this will indeed hurt Arma II in the long run remains to be seen. I just know there is no better time to be a part of Arma II in terms of online activity.
Arma III will be released and whether or not we will see a "mod z+" will be known with time, But in any event the sales of this w/ mod z will only help future projects , inluding Arma III
