Like many people I am doing both the seal thing and watching for the Hacker Evolution keys every 5 minutes. I've been copypasting the keys and I've gotten quite a few that come up as invalid. I'm wondering if this is because I'm entering a duplicate key roughly every 5 minutes and Steam thinks I'm trying to bruteforce game keys or something (which would be fucking impossible, as far as I know).

Anyone know anything about this? Like...

1: Does a lockout occur?
If so --
2: How many keys do you have to enter in what time space for the lockout to occur?
3: How long does the lockout last?
4: After the lockout is over, do the keys Steam told you were "invalid" become valid again?

Thanks.

You, me, and many more have been getting invalids instead of duplicates.
No clue why.

I don't know exactly how CD key lockouts work, but yes, Steam does lock you out. If you try and bruteforce gift URL you get locked out after 20 tries in every 5 minutes, then the lock is lifted etc etc

I tried 5 keys and then Steam started saying that the keys were invalid, I think the lockout last an hour or so.

5? duplicate/wrong keys and it'll say lock for an hour I believe.

Im not sure about the numbers (how many keys and locked out for how long), but I know from experience that it happens and its lifted after a while and the "invalid" keys are still usable.
