Planet of Lana is an awesome game. Played it on Steam about 13 months ago, and it still really sticks out in my mind. Wild that they've given both it and Dredge away this month.

It doesn't even activate any GOG codes and it keeps showing success, thanks Amazon for messing it up again :( Also not sure how are they gonna handle the shared codes now that give "success" message for any try. I just want to redeem my own codes and I don't even get any e-mails and I can keep redeeming it with the "success" message over and over again

Because maybe it is their fault? The Whispered World is given away at the same time in GOG and that works while the keys from Amazon don't.

In any case, I really don't see why they can't handle a few million redeems (if there is actually that many in a short time, which I doubt) without having issues for hours. Sure it doesn't have to be instant when there is huge traffic, but in any case a simple desktop computer with average household bandwidth as a server can handle thousands of redeem requests in a minute. They should be able to make things work in 5-10 minutes at most, and this would be at the peak.

Maybe because GOG is not Steam and even Steam servers have downtimes. And it is not only a matter of server power and/or bandwidth but software too. Steam surely does have the best of the best programmers, sysadmins, etc. and GOG is a relatively small company in comparison.

I see. In any case it is bad practice, like at the worst case inform the user about a queue and average expected time to handle it, while it is possible to check somewhere that the redeem was successful. The way they did it yesterday I wasn't even sure if I needed to redeem them again or not.

gog is only giving you key, its platform whos responsible for activating keys

You meant Amazon I guess, and yeah I see your point. My idea was maybe Amazon required GOG to have some extra process behind to prevent fraud or something like that which slows the process. But it could be just GOG not being able to handle this. In any case, as I said, it is bad practice.

I mean maybe something like checking if there is an excessive amount of keys redeemed from the same IP or something like that, or like matching the location of when someone got the key from Amazon and where they redeem it in GOG. Maybe they aren't doing any of these though, idk.

Yea. It is bad. I wonder how many games (if any) I misses because problems with activating games on GOG. This one is even worse as it says success but I can activate over and over again. I guess it is better to be careful + wait before trying to activate :). I think GOG has too much people trying to activate in short time + something is technically messed with these 3.

When it worked well it had a small delay until the game appeared in the library, you also received the confirmation email, but these codes today all told me SUCCESS but the games do not appear (despite several hours having passed) and the emails did not arrive (in the middle of that i claimed the free GOG game and it was activated and I received email correctly)
No order appears for those games (Hero's Hour, Planet of Lana, The Coma: Recut) either

Same issue and I guess I will give up for today and check back again tomorrow. I am not even sure if they will end up in my library eventually or if I should redeem the keys again, since no order confirmation e-mail comes and the keys are still possible to redeem again and again.

I'm the same as you and everyone else. I got the prompt telling me due to the high number it will take a while but The Whispered World (Special Edition) from GOG given freely today directly got processed immediately.
I'm thinking that they must be matching up the Amazon giveaways with accounts that they have for some reason.

It is quite possible, but they should resolve this in a better way since issues keep happening every week with GOG keys given from Amazon. It doesn't seem like a server load issue so surely there would be a solution to this if they really tried
