"It’s basically a very small nose stud"
OF COURSE IT'S A HEART, WHAT ELSE? :D I was so not surprised by it :D I don't really like piercings, tatoowise I haven't seen / figured out anything that would be intresting - yet. While I understand that society doesn't really like these things, a well-placed, nice, well-drawn tatoo can really add to one's appearance - similar with piercings. For example you probably heard about Miami Ink, a tatoo series on Discovery Channel, i guess. They do tattooes because it represents something for the owneer/wearer, and they do it at top-notch quality. At that point who am I to say but it's ugly, or something like that? One bad tattoo can hurt more to the tatoo-world than all the well-made ones together.
There you go, word-vomit in exchange x) Happy 1K / train day or something like that ^^

I WANT THAT HEART STUD. But I have no monies for it right now and i am very sensitive to metal allergies. maybe as an Xmas gift. :)
Your words are not word vomit ._. I have word vomited so much ... if i can even find that thread ... (let me get back to you on that ^^) but anyways ..
I agree, who is to say what something is ugly or attractive? That is completely subjective. I have heard of Miami Ink before. I admire the hard work and effort they put into it. Tattoos and piercings are personal expressions and should be done with care.
My forum is tu forum, so talk ALLLLLLLL YOU WANT <3

I love when people share a bit of themselves, and you are a genuine, beautiful person, Rachel. The most liberating thing that I've learned in life is to follow your heart and stop seeking the approval of others. You only have one life to live, and it shouldn't be dictated by what your family, friends, co-workers, the media, marketers, etc. think you should do. Be yourself, like what you like, love who you love, and live a life that makes you proud, regardless of what anyone else might think. :)

I am not afraid to show my true self :) a lot of people don't like expressing too much of their lives, but i find it connects me with people and people can see me for who i am, not just an internet entity. We are all human beings, so it's nice to dive into the complexity of people and get to know them.
Very true. My heart guides much of what I do. Love is very powerful. and happiness!
thanks for your kind words of encouragement. I will continue to living my life how i want to live it and not be defined by others.
i hope you hold yourself to the same virtures!

ITS A MC QUESTION :D if you want a labyrinth, you should try Per3z's london metro train thing :D
very true. my opinions are what matters!

Do not remind me that! I got lost all the times I entered in that London Metro event hell :P
I'm reading some of your comments and you said you have always found difficult to fit in. You only need to find the right people and all will be ok, it's not easy to find the right friends. Sometimes what you think are friends are only acquaintances, real friends, in which you can trust, are only a few.

hehehe i got so lost in that thing i gave up after coming back to the same stop like 5 x and seeing games that i already owned XD
i think it'll take time for me to find the right group. I am more of a solo person, but that's okay. I just am very picky with the people I associate myself with ^^

the medical/health profession discourages having bodily accessories except earrings
TIL: everyone on SG either has a degree in, or currently studying, computer science or medicine.
Also, my sister is doing med in Germany - and she had an extra piercing on one or her upper earlobes, can't remember which.
She gets along with her studies just fine there, but boy, everyone gives her a dirty look back home.
Extended family doesn't say shit though since she's studying medicine, lel
Also congrats on 1K! I'm almost there myself, just a couple games short :)

it's highly discouraged in the US >_< when i applied to many hospitals and volunteer programs, they said no piercings... although the nose stud is very subtle and i think people are becoming more acceptable of it .. i would hope.
lol that is what i learned. something sciency, technical, computer-ish. Actually, i have not met many medical-profession/studies people o.O.
thank you my dear <3 WATCH OUT FOR THEM BUNDLES :D

The most courageous thing I ever did was stand up to racist bullies in grade school every damn day.
Teachers knew I was being bullied, but they turned a blind eye.
I never backed down when they wanted to physically fight.
Proud that I was able to stand up for myself.

That is hella courageous. thanks for sharing. I hate when society and teachers, whom you expect to stand up for you, don't do anything. Ignorance is a terrible thing, and it proliferates many problems.
don't you ever back down from things that you want or stand up for. You are powerful :) i am proud of u!

Ironically, my 1000th Game turned out to be Barbie™ Dreamhouse Party™ ... Thanks student123 for making my dreams come true! <3

Well, I hope I fooled you! :) You probably know me from all those bundle threads ...But, I have been wanting to do a train for a while and haven’t gotten around to making one since my academics and essays/studying keep me occupied and up all hours of the day.
Plus, keeping up with all those pretty bundles and managing my group, Bundle Addicts Anonymous is a lot of fun and keeps me busy :D
Anyways, I thought about what kind of theme to make this. I thought of courage because it’s one of the components that keeps me going every day. I wake up in the morning and sometimes don’t feel prepared to tackle the challenges of the world. There are some days where I will sit at my desk or at home and cry because of a hardship. I think it take courage to even begin your day because you will never know what will happen.
There’s a saying by Shel Silverstein that goes
I think a big struggle for me is to do what I feel is right and not conform to the desires of others, or what they think is right for me. I grew up wanting to please everyone, to always be perfect and do what is “right.” When I made decisions, it would always be according to what I thought my friends wanted, what would please my parents the most, what would make people happy, what I could do to avoid being “wrong”. I never thought about myself and my happiness in that complicated equation of decision-making.
When I think of an example of courage, I think about the time when I turned 19. I had always wanted a nose piercing, but was afraid to get one because a) my parents would disapprove of it b) my employers and peers might think of me differently c) the medical/health profession discourages having bodily accessories except earrings (ie: tattoos, piercings, etc.) d) fear that I would be judged by society due to the stigma against piercings.
I have always been a quiet, obedient, and simple person as well, so to get something that didn't seem "me" would be shocking to others, or so I thought. But then again, isn't it ME who gets to define who I am and project an image that I want? I thought about this concept for a while. I spoke to my employers, friends, and family to see what they thought. Finally, I decided that on my 19th birthday (which was 1.5 years ago), I would do what I wanted instead of what others wanted me to do. I wanted to break free of my shell and embrace something that would make me happy and feel unique.
The piercing itself didn’t hurt at all. It’s basically a very small nose stud that is barely noticeable unless you get close enough to see it. What was a big pain for me was the after-care because it kept on swelling up and sometimes would come out if I was not careful enough. Nevertheless, I took care of it, and I’ve had my piercing for over 1.5 years now :) My mom was the only one who objected to it… (Mom: WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME ;_;), but everyone else has been very supportive of me. I’m happy I had the courage to make this decision because it’s one of the things that I am truly proud of, amongst the many other great accomplishments I have had so far in the 20 years of my life.
In case you can't tell from my avatar or are that "Need pics or it never happened!" kind of person, here is me!
Anyways, I apologize for the word vomit >_>. I meant to make this post a celebratory one, not a boring/wordy/eye-sore discussion about my life experience and cheesiness.
If you would like to respond, I don’t mind if you just bump the thread, say thank you, or tell me about something that you’ve done in your life that YOU think is courageous. If someone else says what you do isn’t courageous, so what? What you believe is what you believe and feel, not what someone else tells you.
I realize that courage might mean something different to people around the world, so I guess I’ll put this definition of courage up, and you can interpret it however you want:
