Tell me what you think

Amd's best processor ($209) http://www.msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=9742

Intel's best processor ($1054) http://www.msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=10072

Remember AMD are for gaming and INTEL are for photorendering/gaming

the highest frames are achievable with intel cpus but you should buy according to your budget and spend 25% of the budget (the greatest sum) on your gpu first pick one that meets your current and future needs neither are better because they both have pros and cons

Intel has better power efficiency, reliability, and gaming performance except for the 70 to 110 USD price range. AMD is better if you need a cheap quad core cpu

i like both, all depends the model and the amount of money available to build a pc, simple as that...

From what I know, AMD's CPU allows more tweaking than Intel's can offer, and a lot cheaper too.

So I'd suggest the AMD was better.

Comparing AMD's high-end and Intel's high-end is slightly silly - Intel pushes their high-end further and tends to go into overkill territory for a workstation/home machine. In practice the AMD FX'es compare better with the Intel I5 series in terms of both price and performance.
As general rule Intel will be more expensive, but also more energy-efficient (which also keeps their temperatures down).
