Why are people doing this? It's annoying as f*ck.
Example: You're browsing the giveaway pages, and then suddenly a full page appear off the same freaking game from the same person.
(Prof: Pic )

It isn't hard to just create one giveaway with 10 games in the same one. I think you should be able to report these persons, because they're just taking up a whole page to get "famous", or at least they think they will get famous by doing this.

And my opinion on this is that all those are doing this is a bunch off douche bags.

Or what's your opinion on this?

I don't think its to get famous, its to either A) make a person who wants 10 chances at the game have to spend 10x the points of just entering one giveaway or B) Making more giveaways makes more points available to spend, the creator may be like 8 points away from being able to enter a LFD giveaway or something so they're like "Guess I'll just make 10 instead of making one."

But those are just, like, theories.

Also you're breaking a few actual rules with this topic, just fyi

As of B: If one creates a giveaway with 10 copies, (The option isn't there just for fun) one gets 10x the contributor value for the game.

I don't think he is talking about contributor value, but points as in the points spent to enter into giveaways. Though I don't think one gets points from games they put up, so that doesn't make sense as a reason for doing them separately.

I have thought about just what you was saying to.

As DesTeck said: "If one creates a giveaway with 10 copies, (The option isn't there just for fun) one gets 10x the contributor value for the game."

And fmi, how am I breaking any rules?

The "calling out" rule.

Yes I have been reading that rule, but it's more for "detective work", so you can see what I'm clearly mean with this.

Isn't that just meant for people breaking the rules? If the person he is mentioning isn't breaking the rules is OP still breaking the rules by bringing this up?

Okey if we say it like this instead: I would greatly appreciate that giveaways off the same game/from the same guy/at the same day, should be kept to a minimum (like a system that you can't put up the same thing more then one time/day), so I don't need to change pages the whole time.

At least I think it's annoying.

Group giveaways won't appear (unless you both are in the same group).

Yeah I wasn't talking about contrib value, was talking about the points you get to spend to get into giveaways, but I'm not going to claim I'm an expert.

And what if you buy multiple copys of a game und share them in different groups? For Public giveaways, ok, but not for private or group giveaways.

He certainly has a point though. Having a discussion about something is okay, but you are technically calling out the guy, and even after 20 minutes of being reminded of it, the link is still there with his name. I could stop being a FAQ-forum-nazi too and tell a mod about it, but that will probably lead to your suspension. You sure you're up for that?

Im 99% sure that he did it because he thinks that if he does one giveaway with 10 copies, his contributor status wont go up. (i thought the same when I started making giveaways, but i never made 14 giveaways of the same game)

This might be a little off-topic, but could someone explain to me what's the difference between giving away 2 copies of the game as separate giveaways or giving them away in one giveaway?? I know every giveaway created gives every SG user some points (regardless of the amount of copies gifted in that giveaway), so separate giveaways for each copy should always be better, right?? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's not worth.
You get 1 point for each giveaway, but you have to spend 20 points to enter both.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

They should all give the same amount of points (I think), because it says that one game for 1€ = 1P, so it shouldn't actually matter if you are giving away 10 separate games or giving away 10 games in the same giveaway.
And creating many giveaways is just annoying to watch, at least I think so.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I was wondering if creating separate giveaways would affect the point generation. If it doesn't, I guess the only benefit of creating a single giveaway for multiple copies is that it costs less point to enter, compared to the situation if every copy was a separate giveaway.

Comment has been collapsed.

I don't know if points received are counted from game value, or giveaway value. If it's the first case, than there's no difference. But in second option, if you give 10 games worth 1 cent as one giveaway you get 1 point, and when you give 10 giveaways you get 10 points.

Permalink

This is just the issue that confuses me. Does anyone know if the points received are calculated based on the game's or the giveaway's value??

It doesn't make anything better. FYI, I have updated the thread so it shouldn't contain any "No calling outs". Hope everyone will be happy.

Okey it may be a little harsh to say so off me, but yes, I'm actually working on it, I don't got much money atm, but at the end off this month I will put up a game.
And the game is "Gotham City Impostors Free to Play: Premium Card Pack 2", almost everyone is giving away it from free facebook codes that they're sending to you instead off buying the actually pack.
And that's why I call these people douche bags.

And it has happened to me:
Is it allowed to giveaway codes from facebook apps?

So anytime someone says that you shouldn't be calling out people you copy and paste the same thing, yet your post is all about how people doing 1 little thing should be reported. A bit hypocritical IMO.

I am tired off all the people that don't read the posts, all are just telling me the same thing.

To be "reported" doesn't need to actually lead to a suspension. I just said my own opinion on things, everybody doesn't need to feel like I am doing on this subject.

Saying that to people is immature and pointless and just shows that you have nothing else to say but don't want to admit you're wrong. "YOU KNOW THE RULES. EVIL! STOP TELLING ME THEM!" Suspended for your attitude.
