When keys are revoked for any reason you get an alert message on Steam so for sure that's not the reason why you "lost" 20 games if you got no message from steam.
Usually, this happens when games are not sold anymore on steam. They disappear from the total number of games, but you still have them.

Like people said once a game is removed from Steam store it doesn't seem to count towards your total game number, even though you still have it in your library. There are some websites that will tell you the real number of your games like SteamDB. Backlog Assassins also shows the right number afaik.

I woke up today and while I was managing trading cards I went to my profile and realized my library now shows 988 games instead of 1008. Did something happen over night that may have removed 20 games from steam? Some dev going out of business? It happened before for the library to show less than prior but never by such a big amount
