I don't trust RT as it is Putin's tool to use the media to manipulate the world.

Yes, RT gets it's daily walking orders from the Kremlin.

It is like trusting FOX news to provide fair and balanced information without political spin.

The news will always be presented in a way that reinforces the Kremlin's perspective of the world.

It sucks that we have to 'read between the lines' when it comes to getting our news without any kind of spin.

Simply put, RT will have a Kremlin based spin on the information provided.

There's a difference between doing something and happening to be of a certain religion; and doing something because of a certain religion. Islam has a tendency to cause the later.

Back when I joined the site, staff still allowed open bigotry, personal attacks, and harassment.
Now they'll actually suspend a user if they get out of hand [though as far as I'm aware, there's no real severity of punishment for repeated infractions]. So perhaps in time, we'll see them taking a more reliable approach against hate speech.
Then again, even I wouldn't push for rules so strict that they'd block out G7FR's absolutely batty comments above, as they not only don't directly attack anything (in a matter that demeans or insults individuals, rather than simply expresses a dubious opinion about a general concept), but they're also utterly nonsensical (and thus can't remotely be taken seriously).
If those are the comments troubling you, I honestly sympathize, but there's a bare minimum we have to tolerate in order to benefit from concepts of free speech ourselves.

So, this site is civil 90% of the time. Then something political gets posted, the forums burn with the embers of a thousand bitter, dying suns for a few days, and then everyone moves on and tries to remember how people got on their blacklists/whitelists over the next few weeks until something happens and then things flame up again.

True that. Usually the extremists do suicide attacks, trying to kill as many people as they can.

I agree. Accidents are easier to swallow than terrorist attacks. I don't know, I think if a family member of mine died horribly, it would be much easier on my soul if it was due to an accident than "I want these random people to die".

What would point towards that possibility, is that it stopped after 50m into the market if i got that
right (aut news site) - that, or the truck had a failure that brought it to halt quickly, either way i wouldn't
be certain, but the driver fled from the scene. Also first it was 1 dead and several wounded, quickly it
changed to 9 dead and 50 wounded ...

Acording to polish media (22:00 19.12.2016 ) which interview owner of that truck company , driver was calling him aroudn 16 :00 that he has some problems in no-go zone with some muslims and them the call was ended. Polziei found a body and it may be orginal driver.

I checked 4 polish sources. Not a single word about muslims, also three of them (all with different owners) confirm that the driver wasn't speaking with anyone in Poland since about 12:00.

Also there is a lot of anti-muslim media in Poland - and they lie very often just to prove their point - especially all government owned media and media owned by "PMPG Polskie Media SA". It is harder to find article in which they told the truth than the one in which they lied.

At first it was acording to tvp info . At second, yes there is a lot of lyingmedia in poland, to bad they are on left side of view and mostly promote muslism as 100 % safe people. Did you forget that german comapaneis own 75 % of polish companies?

Which media?

According to TVN24 - which interviewed the owner of the company, he last spoke with the driver at about noon. He was already at his destination, but he couldn't unload until 8 a.m. tomorrow. Driver's wife tried to call him around 16:00, but he didn't answer his phone.

My heart goes out to the victims and family of this terrorist attack.

The use of a truck as a weapon to run over people has already been used as a tactic by Islamic terrorists in Israel and in Nice, France.

Merkel said: “Wir schaffen das”. I wonder how long she will say that before coming to the conclusion that she really has to ad a word to the end of that phrase: "nicht".

Yeah ... afraid that ship has sailed - the terrorist sleeper cells among the ongoing flood of uncontrolled migration have probably already used the opportunity and are settled. Merkel and those thumb twiddling twats in the European council ... just irresponsible.

It actually amazes me a politician might have a slight chance of being able to accept that "welp, I fucked up."

But then again, what took her to admit such was the absolute foundation of the suicide of advanced western society as we know it, so not such a great accomplishment after all on her part.

For one, don't call them IS. No need to give them legitimacy.
Second of all, they will always claim the attack. It adds to the resume and that's why most attacks are "lone wolf" attacks. It's always encouraged by them to just attack and not ask for their approval.

But I get you. It's probably them. Not ISIS, but some lone wolf.

It is not a legitimation, its calling things by their names. or with with one of the many in this case. salafism, wahabism... or IS.

yeah well true, it happened for the IS to claim responsibility of the attack even if the attacker has not sworn loyalty to them. still unknown if this is the case or he has a dark past. interrogation will tell.
