I like how the flying carpet is the visible part at the Taj Mahal. :P

Did you try Ctrl-F5? I updated the site earlier today, and the thumbnails are better scaled after the update, but you may still have some cached code. The flying carpet was the only thing visible before the update, now you should be able to see both that and the Taj Mahal (although the carpet is still very visible so not sure if that's what you meant).

I had not, but it is much better this way. Now you can at least see what the image is about. :)

Yes, it changed after ctrl+F5, but seeing as I had to do that, others might still see the old ones as well...

Thanks ercalote for host vote... I didn't purposefully think of Brothers Grimm when making the castle... was just trying to make a magnificent looking castle in beautiful landscape... on canvas as a professionally mounted picture in frame...

ercalote:
The Parthenon
nico7's submission has stunned me. It's extremely eye-catching and I just cannot stop looking at it. I love everything about this image: the colours, the style, the mood.. it's all just great. I think I will print it and put on my desk if the author does not mind. 5 points.
Neuschwanstein
My vote here goes to jeffhowe. He managed to depict the atmosphere from Brothers Grimm's tales, which is in the air of this castle. 3 points.
Adelion:
Choosing a favorite from all the submissions was not an easy task. As I was hosting the thread I noticed that I prefered the submissions closer to the reality than those taking the more free and actually more creative way. In addition to this I, probably subconciously, for something more "romantique" or pittoresque. While it was a really close call the one I decided for in the end was Swift's version of Neuschwanstein which unites all the aspects in his picture. 5 points.
Since I was busy with my own thread I did not pay much attention to the Parthenon submissions until it ended. Strangely enough I had a much easier time deciding for my three votes here and also for a favourite. Even stranger it is one of the more free submissions this time. My favourite from the Parthenon's submission is malabagaa's version depicting the freedom and creativity of the arts. If I had to criticize one thing though I would note that while the greeks have always been known for their outstanding talents in arts music never really belonged to them ^^. 3 points
