It's the law of (im)probability here, which runs quiet simply here.
If x = the number of copies are available in a giveaway, which is always a finite number & n = the number of users partaking in that giveaway, which can be an infinite number...
x / n = x / ∞ = ~0.00000000000...1 (I know this isn't completely accurate, but bear with me).
Therefore the winner(s) of the giveaways are the deranged product of the contributor's imagination...
HOWEVER, it can be also said that population of the universe is ~0.00000000...1 under the exact equation as there's only a finite number of inhabitable planets in the seemingly infinite universe... so you're are also the product of someone's (or something's) deranged imagination as well.
Since the act of winning involves a fair amount of improbability, generally in the range of 1:2^12 (as I've yet to see any giveaway reach 1:2^13 at this time) on some larger giveaways... the only sure-fire way to secure a win is to own a finite improbability generator or an infinite improbability generator (which can be created with a finite improbability generator & a strong Brownian motion producer), but that just ruins the spirit of such giveaways.

I've only won three games, but I've been registered for over a month now.
H ow come this system is so unfair? I've entered for hundreds of games but never get them even when I add the gifters on steam and ask for it they're just rude to me. Don't worry, I'm sure some of you are nice, so I'll give you the chance to give me a game in a special giveaway I made where the winner can gift me the game instead.

Bioshock Giveaway
Edit: Bioshock and Bioshock 2 giveaways are over, thanks for the laughs.
