Enjoyed it very much*! Played it like a singleplayer Fallout (not much into multiplayer), done all main quests and lots of side quests (probably missed some but dunno), and quit after getting all achievements. But they added new quests and new achievements so no 100% for me anymore, maybe I will play it again in the future for completion's sake!
*Edit - damn, that was 4.5 years ago already. :D

it was fun to play for 100 hours but now when I want to go back to playing after a while I don't feel like playing anymore I had more fun in 4 but that's probably because I played alone in 76

Yeah, I've been playing it for a while now and am enjoying it quite a lot. Granted I've been playing it more like a post-apocalyptic cosy game - trying to build a cool camp, unlocking plans and trying to unlock cool stuff from the seasonal scoreboards. I've been holding off from playing too much story because we originally planned to play it with 2 buddies but lately I've been playing story a little bit and doing some fun side quests.
It's surprising you were having such a different experience with the community when it comes to trading and legendary mods and stuff like that. I'm playing on Playstation and I must say the game has one of the most friendly and welcoming communities I've ever seen.
Specially when I was low level people would unpromptedly drop stacks of Stimpacks, RadAway and other stuff every other time I played. When I was ~ lvl 25 somebody emoted me after an event and took me to their camp and crafted me 3* Legendary Assault Rifle, a silenced automatic pistol and a flaming chainsaw.
Only recently through a funny coincidence I befriended a high level player who when we first met dropped me boxed legendary mods for the ULTIMATE Tesla rifle and a few days later gave my Ultracite power armor a tune-up for extra carry weight and some good legendary mods.
On the contrary I had the impression because it's a somewhat smaller community (compared to stuff like Fortnite or GTA Online) but has so many hardcore players with levels like 1500 and often even 3000 most of the rare and valuable stuff like god tier legendaries doesn't hold much value to them anymore and they take great joy passing on the love to noobies đ
What adds to that impression is I've been browsing Reddit a bit to learn more about some of the more complicated aspects and whenever I see somebody asking for rare legendary mods there are always several people asking on which platform they are playing and offering to give them the boxed mods for free.
I don't have an Reddit account and for now I've been getting along fine but from what I've heard on YouTube using Reddit is almost mandatory for getting some of the harder to obtain stuff in FO76.
Because as you said you can break down hundreds of legendaries hoping to get the legendary effects you're looking for or just ask on Reddit and somebody will most likely help you out đ
By the way are you preparing for the new Gleaming Depths Raids or why were you looking for Overeater PA?

Do you play or have you played it? I was very much enjoying it for the most part. The end game however seems very very grind heavy with little to almost no reward. For example learning the legendary mods is nearly impossible. There are only a few worth using, less than 10, but there are dozens of them. You have to randomly get the mod on some junk piece which is uncommon to start but then you have to break that item down and you have about a 1% chance to get the mod and a separate 1% to learn how to make it. There is no way to change the odds, it will always be around 1% and you may never learn the ones you want to use.
So you should just buy them from other players right? Wrong. Don't be misled, there are quite a few players out there who have what you are looking for but they don't want you to have it because??? I guess they only want themselves and their buddies to have them. I actually found 2 vendors with what I wanted but they were hidden and behind locked doors, which flags you for stealing when you unlock them. Any way when you buy something from a vendor it alerts the player and these guys removed their camp when they figured out I had found how to reach their vendor. I was able to get 3 random and mostly mediocre pieces with, arguably, the best mod on them however. If you are wondering the mod is called overeaters which gives a flat 6% reduction in damage if you are well fed and hydrated. If you were able to get 5 pieces, after hidden math, you get around 28% total reduced damaged before any other reductions. Sadly people only seem to sell such mods for real world money but possibly even sadder people actually pay for them.
At any rate I have pretty much made my character into some kind of unkillable demigod due to a few very overpowered mechanics. Those mods are on power armor which also has innate flat damage reduction so I don't really take much damage. I use two perks that synergize really well to make radiation not a problem call Ghoulish and What rads? These also help heal damage when there is radiation. I use some really awesome flame-thrower called Holy Fire that does a lot of damage quickly and heals me for 2% of that damage. I put a Napalm tank on it which almost doubled the damage. Only drawback is you have to be fairly close to your target.
I might finish up the rest of the quests and move on. Not real big on gambling.
