Scenarist that irritates normal people with flat characters (how Netflix said with Witcher: americans cant understand complexity). Why Kenji Kamiyama didnt throw it into fire? He directed Kusanagi Motoko or Balsa.

I respectfully disagree about the animation. I found it tiring, uninspired and bland. The environments were also rushed at times; they looked like realistic photos with some cartoon filters slapped on them.

When I try to compare it with Miyazaki's, then I would describle it as: Miyazaki tooks photo, pin it next to screen and completly redraw it. This movie looks more like we make photo, put it into software and then draw over it with tools in software. It the price of using computers and as time continues, more and more companies use it. And yes, I like more old graphic. But this is modern and compare to other projects, it look good.

I'm interested in REVEIL. It is in the Storyteller bundle together with Gollum - and these two games are the only games I'm missing from the bundle. And the price of the two games together is cheaper as for REVEIL alone. So if I want to save money, I have to buy both games.^^

I looked around for some information/vids about the current state of the game, but all I could find were annoying YT personalities bashing the game for entertainment value. If anybody can point me to a reasonable, objective review-- either for against-- that would be awesome. :)

I didn't play it (and not really planning on) - but from what I've seen, it's a really mediocre game with bad quests, no bugfixing, 4k textures, raytracing, new models and voice acting could change it into a good one. Maybe a meh one. It has fundamental issues at writing and gameplay levels - they forgot to ask themselves, what people enjoy, and ended up with running around to collect slave tags. Weird that a studio got a freaking Lord of The Rings license, and neither could do something original and meaningful they wanted to create, nor did a competent trendchasing game.

Judging from SteamDB... the game has already been abandoned. There's been no updates to the game depots in 17 months.
I can't be sure about these youtubers, but there's a good chance that the bugs they experienced are still in the game. :(
