Yes. Collecting, buying, trading steam cards are ridiculous and waste of time & money. It just helps steam to earn more money with commission. I wonder what does the community think?

I love them. I collect them and then sell them. I've bought at least 20 games like that and i've earned about 30-40 euro by selling them since beta.

it's great fun and i love collecting, so it's great for me, and i don't spend money on them, steam get their share and that's fair for providing fun and possibility to gain something from cards for those who don't collect them

I craft badges early so I can get rare backgrounds and emotes to sell (tip: greenlight games!). I sold a few from MouseCraft for over £1 each the day they sent out Steam keys.
Sure Valve make a bit of cash from it, but if I'm willing to sell and someone else is willing to buy, who are we to complain?

They become uninteresting very fast for me sadly. So yeah, a few cents here and then maybe, but other than that, I agree, It's a waste of time. Maybe not for money if I want certain specific smileys and background which I'm never really fond to.

It not only give money to Steam (which in my opinion isn't bad, they can make cool things with this money), but also 10% of this money goes to the developers of the game (from which is the sold card).

conjoined by anything I sold from CS:GO (which was a lot, really, in revenue), I managed to earn exactly umm, 72,20€. But that is to say, I spent about 81,67€ on the market too, so my total income there was a mere 153,87€. Mind you, what I spent on the better half of all that income, was TF2 keys which I traded for other games (Shadow Warrior, Walking Dead Season 2, THIEF, The Stanley Parable, Deadly Premonition, but I'll stop teasing you), so they were pretty much part of what I earned in the end; the rest I spent in the store. The total of what I spent from this absolutely free income towards backgrounds and emotes totals for about 1.5 euros (2 dollars if you will).

I just hope Valve will keep releasing these horrible and ridicoulous wastes of time and money, because I'm having a ball with them for sure.

I don't really care about the trading cards. I may buy a few to complete some sets, because they are cheap.
I imagine it could be profitable though, for example i bought £8 in credit for the marketplace, opened some CS:GO boxes, and won a stattrak AWP Boom, a normal AWP boom, a flip knife ( rare special item ) and some crap. I sold the stattrak AWP boom for like £40 i think. Instant profit there. The knife i won is worth about £80. I guess i was lucky, or maybe it gives you better prizes on your first buys to entice you to buy more, but there is potential.
