When you create check vs mate game from https://steamdb.info/app/211070/ anyone can join the game .

game name changed to Battle vs Chess and if you try to go to store https://store.steampowered.com/app/211070 from giveaway it directs to [](https://store.steampowered.com/app/211050/Battle_vs_Chess/

if you try to activate a key named check vs mate it also activates https://steamdb.info/app/211050/

Suggestion : remove check vs mate from game list and allow battle vs chess only

This is different from Package or DLC giveaways, as it is an edge case

The game didn't change name, the game has different name depending on the region you're at. For me it's the opposite your Battle vs Chess link redirects to Check vs Mate. You could've searched the discussions, there's already a thread about it here.

Although it definitely should check if you own either of the versions and if you do just mark as owned, I thought that was how it worked, guess not.

Different appIDs, different packages. Both will be marked as owned only if you actually own both (which is possible due to keys and gifting).

I was talking only about steamgifts, not steam. If the user owns either of the games it would mark in the giveaway as owned.

As DrBeckett said, 2 different games, one is for North America, the other International

Plenty of threads on the subject are really easy to find
https://www.steamgifts.com/discussions/search?q=chess

Reason why Battle vs Chess isn't listed is because it is the International version and SG uses the NA database.
