Favourite bee species/family?
actually sad that we dont care that much and that we are using more and more pesticides like glyphosat which kills literally everything, except the designer crop. the future looks quite aweful.
โIf the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would have only four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.โ

Not sure it is a real Einstein quote - but still, bees are an important marker of the health of the Earth, and they're dying. :/

its probably not by einstein, but it doesnt matter in the end

Yeah, of course the main point is the sense :D
I pointed it out just because I see sooo many "Einstein quotes" on social networks... And most of the time the good old Albert didn't ever say that thing. :)

You forgot carpenter bees as an option, but as someone who lives in the southern US, I don't think there's anyone here who likes them since they make holes in any exposed wood.
So I picked honey bees as my favorite.

Sorry, but there are so many bee/wasp species all over the world with different terms in different languages. In German these are called "Holzbiene" (wood bee), and I haven't encountered them often.
You did it the right way by writing a comment. :)

No need to apologize, I don't like wood bees, I was just joking that they weren't an option ;)
That is fascinating to learn that wood bees are in Europe too - Perhaps they are worldwide?

So I was doing yard work in sandals a couple years ago and a bee somehow flies in between the arch of my foot and the sandal. Needless to say when I realized what was going on I freaked and started hopping around kicking trying to get the thing out, which only made the bee angry because it then stung me. 0/10 would not recommend

Bzz!
Sorry for my bad pronounciation.
Today is the International Bee Day and since it's just being celebrated the second time, it might not be that well-known yet. Though I have to admit that I prefer a beer over a bee anytime, I really like them and appreciate the great work they're doing. And who doesn't like honey?
So if you have any possibilities to improve the situation for them, consider it at least. I'm missing the time to find, rate and link some high quality studies or articles to prove that I'm wrong, but you can certainly all search the web. :p
