So there are some scammers on facebook posting that they are trading 2$ wallet codes for 2.5$ skins.

I know that they are scammers, because the guy who is offering those doesnt even have wallet on steam (never purchased or sold anything on the market, doesnt have the badge task done, btw he is still level 1) and the other guys are his friends who are advertising him.

so i called them out, and told them that i havent seen anyone selling 2$ wallet codes,

and some other random people started calling me stupid, i really dont mind being stupid :D its facebook and most of them are kids.

so just in case im wrong, im asking you guys:

are there 2$ wallet codes? are they global, and also, is there a place where those can be bought?

anything i found online, are new websites, with suspicious payment method, only accepting credit cards, no paypal or other options, my suspicion is that they are phishing sites.

  • Purchased :D sorry for the spelling error

Another thing, i have heard of 5$, 10$, 25, 50 :) but never 2

Ok, i have just purchased a 2$ wallet code for ~2.5$ and when i activated it worked fine, and is at the moment working. :) thank you all for helping me :)

and tnx to talgaby

There are, but not in USD currency. The cheapest one I know of is 5 RM (Malaysian currency, if the currency code is unfamiliar), which is about 1 USD. And you can add wallet codes in any currency, Steam will convert it to the local one, and quite fairly.

thank you for the reply :) are there any region restrictions. because from that region the games have region restrictions.

i know about the conversion, but i dude i know bought a wallet code, and it was in Rub (should be in euro) and the thing didnt work for converting, so he had to contact the support and explain that he purchased the russian wallet, and they switched it for him.

Also, do you know the place, where those can be bought? i have googled, and i found seagm, but rating of that site is not great, some people say that they have asked people to send photos of IDs, and both sides of CreditCards. which i dont like.

According to the Wallet code FAQ page on Steam, it converts from any currency and codes don't have any country restrictions.
The page I found it at was OffGamers. I have no idea if they can be trusted or not.

i see, but just above that it says, that some codes from SEA region can only be redeemed in SEA region (Malaysia is in sea i think)

Offgamers look legit :) the other sites i have found are really crappy

Have you, personally, ever purchased a wallet code less then 5$?

Im trying now to purchase at offgamers (i will answer back)

No, I live in a ROW EU country, so I just add funds to my wallet the normal way, through my debit card. Since wallet codes have a small profit on them, it would not be beneficial for me to ever purchase as I'd just lose money.

yeah :) i do that too, credit card -> wallet -> spending, im also from eu. im from Serbia, EU2 ROW.

but a lot of kids are looking for an easy way into steam wallet. thats why i was researching this, to help them against scammers.

Tnx

there are a lot of people without the wallet. and people have skins, and can trade, but cant buy and sell stuff :) the wallet helps them with that. so scammers are offering wallet for skins (they dont have wallet, just scamming)

i dont need it, but a lot of people do. and im just trying to keep those out of trouble.

Have you tried http://www.codashop.com? I buy my codes there. They do accept Doku Wallet and Bitcoins, not sure about customers outside of SE Asia.
