If you buy it on Steam it will also give you a key in your library for GOG which you can then redeem here to get the DRM-free version in addition to the Steam version:

If you are not going to play it inmediatly maybe you can wait until the next steam big sale. There coul be even a deal before TWIII is out :)

You will have a lot of hours with the first one, I put 96hs on it myself, so waiting is the best choice. Awesome game, hope you enjoy it!
