A Little bit of Everything Puzzle Event!

Looking forward to all the fun messages back and forth on this event! PLEASE don't hesitate to ask for hints or help...

For those who are interested: I am going in for 10 hour brain surgery on Tuesday the 12th to put in two implants and will stay in recovery overnight. I will go back the 19th for another surgery that will put a pacemaker-like device in my abdomen that is attached to the brain implants that will control them. I wanted this puzzle event running during this time so I can have a fun outlet to keep my mind off the surgeries. The best way to encourage me is to solve this puzzle event!! This is what makes me happy! ;) Love you guys!

Instructions of How to Solve:

  • 1 Unscramble the list of words in one of the below puzzles (Ex. P1Q1 IMTTSAESFG is STEAMGIFTS)
  • 2 To determine the Column A-Z to reference for each answer use the Column Number Hint (Ex P1Q1 12345-7890 the column will be the 6th letter in the unscrambled word of STEAMGIFTS, thus column G)
  • 3 To determine the Row to reference for each answer you must solve the Row Hint (Ex P1Q1 unlucky number on a Friday would be 13, thus row 13)
  • 4 Refer to the Puzzle Key below image and find the character in the Grid for the Column/Row coordinate (Ex P1Q1 G13 is "L")
  • 5 Use the Grouping and Order Hint to group together 5 sets of 5 words in the correct order (Ex P1Q1 is the Roman Numeral I, this will be grouped with the others in order of I, II, III, IV, V)
  • 6 Once all the characters are found and the groupings and ordering are correct, you should discover 5 hidden GA codes of 5 characters each
  • 7 Find all 5 GAs for each Puzzle... each will give a HINT to solve a common Acronym (order of GA characters can then be determined)
  • 8 Find all the 8 Acronym Hidden GAs from each of the 8 puzzles to solve and find a hidden ITSTOOHARD puzzle
  • 9 Solve the ITSTOOHARD puzzle and get access to more GAs and conquer the full event!!

Reserved cuz of raisins!!

Corrections:

July 8- fixed V4 on puzzle key... originally a 1 but should have been lowercase L.
July 8- fixed spellings of scrambled words: puzzle 5 line 24 and puzzle 6 line 21
July 9- fixed U13 and V16 on puzzle key which both should have been lowercase L
July 9- fixed V4 which also should have been a lowercase L
July 13- W13 should be a 6 and not an 8 in key... will need to fix sometime soon.
July 14- E15 on Puzzle key should be Y and not A... sorry.
July 21- on Puzzle key G3 should be → L, and G4 should be → G.

@Jeff: YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! You are back with puzzles! But damn I fail at english scramble puzzles. -.-

You can use an online tool to unscramble the words.

Glad to be back with a puzzle... hoping my brain doesn’t get too scrambled that I won’t be able to solve and create puzzles after the surgery! Lol! (Or not lol...)

This reminds me at the episode with JD(from Scrubs if I may saw it) in which he was day-dreaming about surgery. Was funny(or not depends on you).

looks like a great puzzle but surprisingly difficult, I only got 2 from the puzzle 1 batch correctly -- seems to me that some hints are rather unclear or allow multiple answers... anyway, wishing you the best outcome with the surgery!

Thanks for the feedback.... I'm going to add Hints for the 5 groups and the order. Is the scrambled words the issue or the row hints or the group and order part??

3 from the second batch solved, 2 unclear again... it's the row hints where I'm struggling, the other parts seem easy enough or at least unambiguous...

I’ll continually make the row hints better and more clear. Fixed one about knights of round table in P1.

thanks, that helped to clear one confusing point... that code (starting with uno) still doesn't work for me, though, not sure where I could be making another mistake... by now I have solved 3 from 1st batch, 3 from second batch and all 3rd batch (best one so far, row hints are very clear there)

Superb Jeff, I always appreciate your events.

I have one question on the first one. The Knights of the Round table is an ambiguous number. The Norman poet Wace, is the first to mention it in Roman de Brut, and describes it as seating thirteen people in all, a number stated in the Didot Perceval.
Robert de Boron, in Joseph d’Arimathe and Merlin says it seated 50 knights.
The Vulgate Merlin says 250, and the Vulgate Lancelot and Malory’s Le Morte d’Arthur both say 150.
The English poet Layamon has 1,600.
And I have been to Winchester Castle personally and seen the 25 shields hung there, but at least one of those (King Arthur Pendragon) was not a technically knight of the round table.

King Arthur's round table had ?? knights plus King Arthur himself.

Different stories had different numbers of Knights, ranging from only ?? to 150 or more.

Only started puzzle 1 at the moment. I've solved 3 sets. The uno and ballerina sets aren't coming together yet, I must have some wrong answers in there. But I have been working on mobile, and I'll have more time later today to get a better look at those.

Solved 4 sets in P1. Only uno set is left, I thought I'm wrong with first question here, but even bruteforcing didn't help.
Anyway, I will return later for the rest.

Managed to solve P1 through P4, but for the life of me, I can't figure out the "row hints" starting at P5, how do I get a row numbers out of those? Any more hints?

Love the puzzle and good luck with the surgery!

Hey friend, this is the first time I heard about brain implants.
May I know why you are doing this surgery?

I've had Parkinsons since age 40... I'm now age 51. It has become difficult to control my body. I can't walk for most of the day and I'm in bed shaking and tremorring in great pain now like 85% of every day.

I need some relief...

Here is some details on the procedure...

My grand father also had parkinson disease. He had shaky hands. So I know how you feel.
Looking up the causes of this disease on the internet, I think the culprit of my grand father's case is exporsure to toxins. He was a farmer and may have exposed to a lot of pesticides and herbisides.
Do you share a simillar history like exposure to toxins?
I wish you have a fast recovery from the surgery! 💐

I'm still missing three codes, though, the "torso" and "fetus" parts of puzzle 2 (no idea what I'm doing wrong there) and the "driving school" part of puzzle 6 (cannot find the correct order), so I had to bruteforce my way a bit...

Is the captcha something to be found somewhere? I believe I tried all obvious answers and nothing worked...

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Torso one- think of head to toe order
Driving school may be unique order to USA, school first, then get a permit, then license, then the rest you should be able to deduce.
Fetus one starts with sperm meets egg and ends with giving birth

And its not captcha but CAPTCHA. ;)

thanks, it seems I have the order correctly everywhere, so I'll need to recheck everything else later... also will try the CAPTCHA again with a clear head tomorrow...
